@Jllocke-I totally feel you witht the depressing nature of studying…I have the “dark” when i leave and “dark” when I get home problem, and when i get home @ night ALL i wanna do is watch 4 episodes of seinfeld and pass out…I guess some motivation, and probly the best words Ive gotten, is that YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN. hahahaha why half-a$$ it now and then have to realize you could deifnitly have pushed thru. Its hard @ work but I usually squeeze in an hour or even half hour of looking at index cards here and there-deifnitly helps…Im finally starting to visualize all these stupid notes that are hanging in my cube (my colleagues think Im some sort of nutjob).

Also, if your killing weekend studying like you have been youll be fine…CONFIDENCE is #1 thing I believe when walking into FAR…its so much material and so much work that its dumb to stress and worry, those 2 things will only slow down your mind.

stressed – I'd say just take it. I'm also in the tax profession and the first time I took FAR i got a 74 (which is just plain evil). I walked into that test thinking I was going to fail & walked out thinking that I was getting a 50. So now, I'm kicking myself as I'm studying to re-take this awful test on 11/22 because I wish I had just pushed myself that little bit harder to pass it the first time. So take it – as far as I know you can't get your money back & you're putting a lot of the work in now. Good luck!

so, i'm one of those awaiting for the FAR scores to come out. i'm 50/50 on whether i passed, so incase i didn't, i have a question. i study using becker and a little bit of gleim, and i don't feel either has enough problems or practice on journal entries doing pensions, and i definitely would need more practice on that. anybody used anything else to get a better understanding of pension journal entires?

Try Yaeger they explained most of the MCQ's using T account and JE's. It is very helpful if you know the basic!

I can relate as I am studying for FAR too. However, I see it at this view point……. at least we know “SOMETHING” that we can start on! Remember that it is like a puzzle without the little things, we could not make a whole. We have to do the FAR materials by chunks or else we will choke :).

Well, I survived the exam on Friday. I finished everything with 8 seconds to spare. First testlet ok, second harder than first, third same as second. Simulations varied information. Felt like I did better on written communications this time (that was one of my “weaker” areas last time). Thanking God for a passing score!

For all of you preparing, keep your chins up! We can do this!
