exam is on 3/10..seriously don’t know what to think now..

So about 2 weeks ago I completed the first FAR Becker exam and scored 74% after the 60/40 split. MCQs were weak and sims were great.

And then worked 2 weeks straight with no studying done (not even a question whatsoever)

i have off this whole week..so i spent the last 2 days hammering progress tests to recall the materials (100 questions a set, scores averaging 75 to 90) and then redid the FAR exam#1 and scored 84% after the 60/40 split.

I also went through those 2016 AICPA newly released questions for FAR and only missed a few out of the 50 or so questions.

i feel like i can’t recall any of this material on top of my head (possibly because there is just TOOOO much) but when i see a question, stuff just suddenly come back.. is this normal??

I will give the 2nd exam a shot tomorrow but what are my chances as of now??

Honestly those scores are great! Please don't syke yourself out. the first time i took FAR, my practice exam was 54, I got 67 on the real thing, still I failed but my actual score was much higher than the practice exam. You will pass trust me

Thanks for the kind words. Not being able to recall stuff on top of my head frustrates me. It's like I forgot what I studied

I was trending not much higher than you but couldn’t tell if my testlets were getting harder or not but I felt like I knew a lot of the answers which is interesting if I wasn’t scoring ridiculously high on MCQ questions when studying. From the google stats Jeff posted, you are correct the actual score to trending NINJA score is about % higher but one thing that doesn’t take into consideration is the SIMS so I guess we can say that a % higher average on the test should reflect SIMS as well since they are just in another format then the MCQ’s and it’s a good indicator overall of how well you know the material (Makes sense). My SIMS seemed very tough and usually I can pull through on them but it really is nerve racking not knowing as I didn’t feel great walking out of test center because the whole exam was so weird.

@CanPassAttitude Running Dry When you got a 67, you only studied 3 weeks? Although I wasn’t scoring much higher than you in 8 weeks of study I felt like I knew the material well on exam day and the NINJA MCQ were a lot more difficult then the actual (Not sure if this is a good or bad thing). Felt like my 1st testlet wasn’t easy and we all know that was a medium. I flagged I think 8, 5, 7 by testlet which doesn’t mean I didn’t know it 100% just meant I wanted a 2dn or 3rd look at it before being final with my answer. I have no clue how I ultimately did but my SIMS were atrocious. I felt like throwing up just staring at 2 of them. I was able to work through them though and hopefully picked up 65-70% on them. How did you feel your last FAR attempt on MCQ and SIMS?

@cruzer, I definitely felt more prepared than when I took the test back in December. I felt like the SIMS were an absolute killer. At this point I'm praying I'm DONE

IMO if you are picking up anywhere near 70% correct on each of your sim questions (plus 100% on the research question), you are going to score “comparable” at worst, which should be good enough for a passing score as long as you didn't bomb the MC. Cruzer, sounds like you did better than you thought…
