I can’t quite grip the concepts for capitalized interest. Can someone give me a quick explanation on what to capitalize and maybe provide a small example that will help this click? Thanks in advance I really appreciate it.

Production of PPEs for sale, expense ALL interests. DO NOT CAPITALIZE.

Production of PPEs for internal use, expense the interests only AFTER the completion of the production.

    CAPITALIZE INTERESTS ONLY DURING PRODUCTION.

This is how I simplify my understanding of it. Confirmations &/or corrections are welcome please.

This vid helped me to get a better understanding of interest capitalization.
