I have yet to take any of the actual tests. I’m taking FAR on Monday. How does the actual test compare to the Sample Test?

Sample tests are light and fluffy compared to the real deal.
Imagine similar SIMs, but the work areas will be 2x-5x the volume of work.

@recked sweet thanks. Same for MCQ difficulty?

@AF – You said this is your first test. If so, I'd recommend clicking through it. It won't take too long and may make you feel more familiar with how it's set up. You don't have to answer all of it, and even if you do, it's going to take 40 minutes give or take. I think it may be worth it to skim through. Maybe something will look similar on test day.

I take FAR this coming monday too. I do plan to look through the AICPA practice test on Saturday or Sunday more for familiarity than study. I've been studying for 10-12 hours a day since last saturday for my final review. During that time, I've been doing hundreds of MCQs and some SIMS through Wiley. Good Luck.

@kimberly I took the whole sample test. My question was that I'd like to know how much it acts as a proxy for the actual test.

@AF – Ah, gotcha! Okay, I think it is simpler, but some have said they've seen a similar sim on their exam.

Yup, some have said that the AICPA test was very similar to their actual exam. I think that's been part of my downfall on my last 3 attempts, I did not take any practice exams due to either burnout or lack of time. But this next time around, I will be taking the sample exams for sure.

Given that I took the one before the upcoming update, the AICPA sample test is very similar, if not identical, to the actual exam in terms of the user interface and overall “feel”.

As far as the amount of information (i.e supporting documents and what have you) and the degree of difficulty for the SIMs on the practice were a lot less and easier than the actual exam. The MCQ part of the sample test was a joke.

Just take them to familiarize yourself with how the exam is set up. Even if you get a similar SIM on the actual exam, the chances are there will be more information you have to dig through in order to solve the problem.
