I finished F1-F5 these last few days i’ve just been doing progress tests for these chapters. literally every test i’ve gotten a 67 on. I’m wondering if I should move on and start F6 or keep working on F1-F5. My exam is Nov. 10th and i’m already feeling like I should push it back.

    REG - 63,74,70,81!!!
    FAR - 44,73, 81!!!!
    AUD - 51,81!
    BEC - 73,77!!

3 years later and I'm officially done. Never give up no matter what!

I usually don't move on until my progress tests average around 80%, just because it's hard to keep going if you know you're still lacking in previous areas. Is there one particular section that's responsible for dragging your progress test score down? If so, maybe go back and master that chapter before going on to F6.

That said, you do have to keep moving forward at some point. Right now I'm on F8 and I still really struggle with business consolidation stuff from F3 on my progress tests, but I've already tried to master that section and it's just a weakness for me. The entire test won't be on consolidations so I just have to keep pushing through.

    AUD - 88
    REG - 76
    BEC - 88
    FAR - scheduled for 10/20/14

Agreed. You need to address your weaknesses but not waste an overabundance of time on them. Although being weak in a lot of areas is a different story…

You're right. The whole exam is not going to focus on your one or two weak areas. I believe if you have a good knowledge of most topics than you can pass this thing. I don't think anyone is comfortable with every area in FAR.

I cannot stress this enough… Stop worrying about the percentages. Go through the material one more time. When you get a problem wrong, write down the rule or a brief narrative that explains the concept. Don't just copy the text book answer, if those worked for you, then you wouldn't have gotten it wrong. Then move on to the next topic. Go through each topic writing your own notes. Even if the software gives you two nearly identical questions back to back, if you get them both wrong, WRITE IT DOWN. There is a direct link between what we put on paper and what we put in long term memory.

I also cannot stress enough how important the basics are to passing this exam. You can know derivatives and bifurcated bonds like the back of your hand, but if you miss a question on basic accounting, like Balance Sheet presentation, you probably won't pass.

If you just keep going through the MCQ's online, you are going to do exactly what I did, which was to memorize the answers. Before I took FAR once, I had a 97% average on the Wiley Test Bank. I got a 73 on the actual exam. I got off of Mr. Wiley's Wild Ride and went back to the books using pencil and paper. I got an 85 and a license number!

move on. sometimes our brains need a break and to actually process the information we gave it. there's so many things i easily catch during my 2nd pass during the material (Even if just reviewing notes and mc i got wrong).

Everything relates , so reading another topic could make things click on something else.. Remember ,the way the review is ordered is them trying to lump in similar topics together that match up with content tested, and it won't always make sense. I know in Gleim there were questions in units 1-3, that if you never learned before, you weren't gonna learn it till units discussed later
