[FAR] 38 hours until my first exam ever

Working through the rest of the Yaeger CRAM minimum questions right now and trying to decide whether to spend tomorrow evening taking a practice Becker exam or continuing to review my weak spots by re-copying notes. My peers usually have an idea of how well they will do after taking a practice exam but I don’t want to overwhelm myself with stress if my practice score isn’t at least mid-60s. Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated.

If this is your first exam, I'd recommend taking a few hours to do a practice exam to get a feel for the timing of the testlets and to know where your weak spots are to review. Don't get too discouraged if you don't do well because the practice exams are designed to be more difficult than the real thing from my experience.

Take the practice exam no doubt. Take it, get a feel for how the test works, and get owned by your practice exam. Then study your weak spots, cram cram cram, until about 2hrs before the test. Then relax relax relax. I play rockband before and scream paramore at the top of my lungs. Nothing gets rid of anxienty and stress like a little Crush Crush. Anywho, you should definitely take 1 practice exam as you don't want to feel surprised on the exam, that will throw you off your game, and we all know that being thrown off your game in the middle of the game, well, isn't a good thing. Don't stress it, just prepare the best you can, and be ok with that. I tell myself going into the exams that there is a good chance that I will fail this exam, and I am ok with retaking it because most people do. This also helps with test anxiety I think, because when there's an answer I am not 100% positive on, it doesn't phase me because I never had an expectation to get even a vast majority of them right. Good luck on your FAR exam man, FAR popped by cherry too. Oh, and as far as Becker practice exams go, I was in the mid 60's when I took my Becker practice exam literally 6 hrs before I had to sit for the exam… and I got a 97. So don't stress the practice exam either (that's quite an ironic thing to stress about anyway isn't it?)

Agreed – take the practice exam (if you still have time), but don't worry about the score. In my experience, if you're in the 60's on Becker you're fine on the real exam, and even 50's on Becker you have a fighting chance at a 75 on the actual exam.
