So I will be taking FAR this Friday the 25th and needless to say I’m freaking out…. I have been studying with Becker and have been putting in the time (at least I think I have been).

The bad part is out of the 7 simulated MC final exams I’ve taken I have only passed two with a 78 and a 76… the rest I have failed with the lowest score being a 66. This really does not help my confidence at all. With 3 days of study time left I feel completely burned out, enough so that I’m stalling taking another practice exam writing this…

In addition to not feeling confident, I have barely worked the TBS. Since I have barely passed the MC finals I feel that I should at least get one part down before I start with the other… I have taken the rest of the week off to study but at this point my brain feels like (insert something fluffy here). Words of encouragement would help, advice would be grand…

BTW this is my first exam.

I will end this post with my current frame of mind AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

    nofuncpastudy:

Your username describes what my feeling is this very moment. I got my FAR exam tomorrow morning….and I too am freaking out. I practiced the Online Wiley 2011 CPA Exam. I would recommend you go through the TBS's…just to get an idea of the type of questions you can expect.

I am also looking for some words of encouragement/advice from ppl who have taken this Beast of an exam before.

Good Luck for your exam !!

Hey if you read the post from “Should I be worried” the reply is some what comforting…And i have gone over the TBS a bit i just feel if you approach each section as it was a MC question you will be OK. Since at the end of the day you have options to choice from you know. But then again this is my first time…(thats what she said)….Sorry Nervous Humor…

But best of look to you and please post after your exam letting us know what you think… And if it helps only 10% of people pass all the test on there first time so if you don't pass its not a big deal… At least thats the way i'm trying to look at it.

    Good Luck

nofuncpastudy, Far is a beast but you can conquer it. I suggest that you go over the SIMS to get more comfortable with them. Also, be VERY familiar with JEs. I would study up until the day before you take the exam. You don't want to go in there with your brain feeling like mush. Also, don't fret so much about the final exams. I have never taken becker but the review questions tend to be more difficult than the actual exam questions. Don't worry, you'll do GREAT!

nofuncpastudy – I'm in the same boat, taking the exam Friday. Having a tough time getting passing scores on the practice exams, but try to see if you arer consistently getting a specific topic wrong. That's my problem. I'm spending the day Thursday just redoing MCQ's on my weak topics.

    Good Luck!

So gave the Beast of an exam yesterday….tried to tame the beast..but could not succeed in doing so LOL.

As ‘HAZE' above mentioned you really need to be familiar with most journal entries.

They basically can test you from anywhere…you kinda need to know every goddamn thing.

Biggest mistake I made > Took Governmental Accounting lightly !!

I took FAR today, my second attempt. I can't even begin to speculate if I passed or not. I had my first ever panic attack before even going in and then threw up afterwards. The 2 hour drive home was pure hell as I have this knot in my stomach knowing I failed. I'm going to get drunk and then move on to studying for my 5th attempt at BEC on Monday. Can't do a damn thing until scores come out any way.

I took FAR this morning. The TBS were actually harder than what I expected. I didn't have enough time to finish them all so I have to guess through MOST of them. I'm feeling very disappointed right now because I've spend so much time to study but I feel like I've failed this exam.

dhuffman – I think I will do the same thing as you (get drunk then move on to study the next section). I have 5 days break until my audit review course this coming up Saturday.

I just took FAR today (2/28/2011). This was my last part!!!!!I have to say I felt great about the M/C. I think the 1st testlet was fairly easy(if thats possible), 2nd got a little harder, and the 3rd was maybe medium. As you all have posted I too started the TBS with 1 hr left. It was not that the M/C questions were hard but the fact that sometimes I would answer the question then go back and look at all the answers again. I also received some questions that were really wordy. I feel like if you worked all of the questions in Becker at least twice you should have felt confortable with the M/C/

The TBS seemed to be 90% J/Es. I knew a lot of the information but it was a lot of information to read thru before you could solve the problems. More tiime I would not have had a problem with the questions presented. Did anyone experience the exam moved extremely slow in between tabs in the Testlet/TBS? I finished 5 out of the 7. Hopefully some of them were not counted. I wish they still did the written communication b/c I use to pick up points on those tabs if I got confused on other parts of the SIMS.

    AUD – 80, BEC – 76, REG – 81, FAR – 2/28/2011

Yes it moved very slow. Like some of the frames would load before the colored text you can see outlines of some boxes…was annoying. I thought I locked my computer up when I had a drop down box open, and the calculator open at the same time. And nothing moved…

I also took it today, 2/28. The lag between the TBS was annoying. It was about a 10-20 second lag and I also thought my computer froze the first time. I had about 5 minutes to spare at the end so I went back to check through the 7 TBS and it took the whole time because of the lag.

I also thought the 1st testlet was fairly straightforward. 2nd and 3rd were much tougher. I felt pretty good about all but one of the sims so hopefully that's the one they don't grade. I know I didn't do well on govt/NFP or the IFRS questions so here's hoping I passed.

i took the exam today (2/28) too, my first testlet was fairly easy and my second same a little harder but not by much and then my 3rd testlet was easy…i thought the more better you do it gets harder.. i really got easy questions like do captailze goodwill NO and like how to calculate COGS, most my questions were WORDS over calculation. i kept on thinking that am im doing something wrong because each testlet wasnt getting hard..PLZ HELP ME HAS THIS HAPPEN TO ANYONE BEFORE IM GOING CRAZY BUT IM GOING TO START STUDYING REG AND AUDIT, because im taking those in april and BEC in may. BTW the simulations was really harddd a lot of JE..i guess on most of them..Does think mean i failed?

p.s. i was praying the whole drive to the exam that god give me easy m/c questions maybe it came true but i think not plz reply to me im so stressed
