I've gotten in the 30's before. It sucks but it just means you gotta re-read and really pay attention to the tricks becker gives you. For FAR once i got through all the lectures and HW once and went through it again it made more sense. Theres questions in F2 that incorporate elements that you will learn when you move onto other chapters. For the most part everything in FAR is interrelated with each other except for governmental and non-profs.
F2 was a beast! The first time I took FAR, I just sort of gave up on it and prayed I didn't get any questions from that chapter on my exam.
The second time I studied, I printed all the questions and did them slowly, one by one and the concepts made more sense. What I found was the explanations to the questions helped me understand the concepts better than just memorizing the book. Definitely do the optional questions as well!
F2 SUCKS. It's such a random chapter full of crap thrown together. I absolutely hated it. What really helped me is creating “homework sheets” in Word and basically just doing them over and over until I could recite in my sleep how to account for franchises, entries for deferred revenue, etc. It was really overwhelming and then I just stepped back, took some time to memorize some of the stuff, and the MCQs got a lot easier.
Wow I'm currently working on F2 and it's taking me so much time!! I was wondering if there was something wrong with me. I don't think I'll even do the optional ?s
FAR was the worst exam to study for. I can remember half a dozen times screaming at my study materials something along the lines of “No! No! That directly contradicts what you said right over there in that other problem!” Just stay calm. Don't waste your energy worrying. Study the materials to the best of your ability and you'll be just fine.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks F2 AND F3 sucks either!
I flew through F1 and then got stuck on 2 and 3.. finally have moved onto to 4 and it's a bit easier 🙂 more manageable anyway….the MCQs for 2 and 3 were like omg i am never going to pass this thing.

I definitely wish I was one of those people who got all 4 exams done in 4 months, but unfortunately LIFE (being a newlywed, stress, adjusting to newlywed life and cpa exam study life, as well as starting a job with a Big4 which I am very happy about) got in the way, just happy that I am passing period!!

That's what I did. I did all of the smaller sections of homework that were 10-15 questions each. But then I just stared at the “timing Issues” with its 100+ MCQs. I made a deal with myself: Go until you get 50 correct. I didn't make it. I got 33 correct and only did 45 total.
