Hey everyone,

I need help on something. My BEC credit expires on 7/6/10. The only day available for me to re-take FAR in my area is 7/6/10. As such, I have scheduled to re-take FAR on that day. That being said however, does this mean I will lose my BEC credit?

Who can I talk to in order to find out for sure?

You should have til end of that month to pas FAR (i.e. BEC should not expire until July 31st). You can also see this in the letters you got from NASBA which show what parts you have passed. It should say on there when the expiration date is for each part, and from my experience it's the end of the month at the end of the 18 month window.

FarBehind is right – find another place to test. If BEC is going to expire be sure to take the test before it expires. One point – you can do it.

To re-emphasize what Ms_X said – you have untill 7/31. Check those letters they sent to you after each exam. Or call them

Call down to Champaign, that Russ Friedwald sp??? guy is really nice and so is the lady that does backup for him. They should definitely be able to answer your question. IL is an independent state so we don't get letters from NASBA they come from ILBOA.

On a side note, glogo, there is a cpa endowment fund…look on the ilboa website dont use the egateway part that way you will see it.

To just take the test before the first section expires? or To get the passing score by the time the first section expires? say as long as he takes the test before July 6, say July 5, it would be fine? don't have to get the score by July 6?

Definitely check with your state board. I think it varies by state – some expire at the end of the month, and some on the exact day. Good luck!!

Wow, thanks everyone! I wrote an e-mail to my State Board, I will try to find out soon here. As of right now, I grabbed the last spot at any testing facility available within 50 miles of me. And that is for 7/6/10, which is also the date I would lose BEC credit. I am hoping they tell me it is OK and I can just hang on to that spot on 7/6 and re-take it then. If not, I may have to fly somewhere to take it… yikes.

Just got a response, I am good to go on 7/6. As long as you take the exam on/or before the expiring credit date, you are in the clear.
