Okay, I get Dollar Value LIFO, and the Retail Method (mostly).

But Dollar Value LIFO Retail? WTF, it hurts my head just thinking about it. I hope this isn’t a common topic, because these topics are the first time I’ve even HEARD of Dollar Value LIFO and Retail separately, let alone the two topics combined together.

Anybody got any tips on how to tackle this headache of a topic?

I was going over this same topic today and thought the same thing. I've never heard of it. Hope it does feature heavily on the actual exam.

Just FYI – they almost never ask about this on FAR. Having to grind out the calculation for it – although it's simple math (adjusting to base year prices and doing the stair-step calculation method) – is not something that can be done quickly. If you're unlucky enough to get a TBS on it, then of course just use your memorized plan of attack and do it. But if it's an MCQ – take a look at the numbers and choices and just pick one. I would NOT recommend this for every topic, but this is one of a few I would. You could lose valuable points on other questions if you mess around too much with single questions on difficult topics like $ Value LIFO.

Becker doesn't cover it and there are maybe 2 questions in Ninja on it…I wouldn't worry about focusing on it…The dollar-value LIFO, lower cost or market are probably much more likely to make an appearance:)
