So am reviewing the acquisitions section and the equity section of the consolidated balance sheet is killing me. I know that in 100% Acquisitions after the elimination entry:
(parent and sub assets) = (parent and sub Liabs) + Parent equity
And in less than 100% acquisitions:
(parent and sub assets) = (parent and sub Liabs) + (parent equity + NCI)

I’ve been breaking my head on MCQ’s and can’t seem to get it. I’ve gone as far as adding all assets, liabilities, and equity of both the parent and sub together then subtract and adjust everything included in the eliminating entry. I can’t see to get it right.

Does anyone have a formula or a special tip for these type of problems, I can’t seem to crack this thing. Any tips would be really appreciated, Thanks.
