I failed BEC in my first try in Aug., but I have to take FAR by the end of Oct.

I dont know if it is possible to prepare both simultaneously or just focus on one by one.

I knew FAR is a beast and time consuming, now i am only done 1.5 chapters.

i am not a good multi-tasker. i doubt 45 days is not enough for both sections.

Does anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks.

Actually, I am doing that as we speak…do I know if it will work? No, since I have not taken any sections. I was prepared to sit for BEC at the end of August, but my NTS took 8 weeks to come in.

Since the end of August I have been focusing on FAR. 7 weeks on it and a week to review for BEC…hopefully I'll be a CPA.5 by the end of October.

I can't say I did FAR/BEC. However, I did simeotaneously prepare for AUD&FAR and then BEC®. So far, it's turned out well. I am not working yet, so I studied FT, mostly alternating days and focusing on one exam for a week or so beforehand. I started studying in June, and had two done by 7/19. Depending on your schedule, 45 days could be enough.

I'm not doing FAR and BEC together, but I am doing AUD and BEC. If you do both together, it's best to alternate study days between the two as the earlier post suggested.

It can be done. It all just depends how much time you have and how you use it.

I am actually in the exact position you are in. I sat for BEC in August. Failed, but already scheduled & started studying for FAR. I highly suggest NOT studying them exactly “together” if you are not a good multi-tasker. It may get you confused on GAAP rules compared to non-GAAP rules. I will suggest to try to do what I am doing, which I believe will work. I plan to take FAR by the end of October… That will give me over a month of intensive studying and enough time to cover and review each topic. Then, as soon as I take that, I will start to re-study BEC (you probably won't need as much time to study for this since you did already study it & will retain at least some information). I will take BEC before Thanksgiving (or you could even take it all the way up to the end of Nov. since it is still in the testing window). I really think that will give you enough time to get both done before the end of the year! Do not overwhelm yourself & it really helps to make a study schedule to budget your time. You can always revise it, but it will help you stay on point so you don't fall behind and not have enough time to cover all information presented!

    Hope this helps! Good luck!!

Thank for all the prior posts.

Sigh…if only left FAR and BEC by the end of this year, i won't worry too much. However, i was too hurry or stupid to apply AUD also before i got my BEC result. and i just knew that the application fee is non-refundable. So, right now, total three sections have to be done before Dec.

I consider taking BEC again asap when it is still fresh. My strategy will be re-read the materials and re-do all the MCs. If I can manage the time well, like 4 hrs for BEC 4 hrs for FAR, maybe mission is possible.

The road is hard and long, we must keep faith.

Guys, only apply for an NTS for two exams at a time. Additionally, if you fail an exam, take it again as soon as possible in the next testing window.
