Do you have to pay all exam fees at once?

For my first exam, I only applied for one section. If I apply for two or three next time, will I have to pay the ~$200 apiece for each one before I can schedule? Or can I pay ~$200 and schedule AUD, then pay ~$200 a month later and schedule BEC or REG?

Yes, you have to pay before receiving your NTS……..and then schedule at prometrics.

So you only get one NTS that covers all sections that you apply for?

Yes, one NTS per application. So for one application if you pick all 4 exams you must pay for all 4 and will get an NTS for all 4.(I don't reccommend this route)

Does that help? What state are you in?

I'm in KY. I'm going to send in my app on Monday and I wanted to go ahead and do it for AUD and BEC. Hopefully AUD in January and BEC in February. I wasn't sure if I had to pay both exam fees at the same time, though. State government isn't exactly the best paying job and the review material is expensive enough.

I'm in CA. What I think will happen(as this is my experience with CA) once you are approved by your board, you then select which exams to take. Based on that then you pay NASBA for those exams. Once NASBA gets payment you schedule with Prometric. So if you only select two at first, you only pay for two.

    Good luck!

There is also a registration (or re-registration) fee that you have to pay on top of the fee for each exam. So, registering for all four on the same NTS will cost you less than if you register for each exam separately. However, registering for more than one at a time means you have to take all of those sections before the NTS expires.

Actually, in KY there's only a one time application fee of $30. Then, just $30 per section to apply. So I'll pay the same regardless of how many applications I submit. Does anyone know if subsequent applications go through any faster or do they all take the same amount of time as the initial application where they have to check all your credentials and everything?

In CA it does take a shorter amount of time for reapplication to go through. They just process it, no checking transcripts, etc.
