Do I need to reschedule?

    Hi there,

I schedule my FAR test on the last day of August (first exam, first try), so I’ve got about only one month left. I started preparing it in mid May this year but I was a full time worker until yesterday, when I quit my job to prepare the cpa exam. I am half way thought the Wiley book but has not done a lot of MCQ yet.

My question is, is one month of full time study enough to possibly pass the FAR? or do I need to reschedule? In addition, from reading the Becker book, I found it fit me better. Since time is a constraint, I will choose one of the two paths. First choice, read the Becker book and them do the MCQ and SIM on the Wiley test bank. Second choice: finish the lecture on and stay with Wiley, also do MCQ and SIM

Which way is better? Need your opinion, thanks!

One month with not working should be enough time to be ready for FAR. It does depend on how

you use your time. I plan on being ready at the end of the month too. Setting up a game plan,

like the ninja schedule, and hit the books.

As for the learning materials, pick the materials that help you learn the materials the best. If

Becker is better, use it, and keep going. I like the Wiley book, but I have not used Becker,

so it is hard for me to compare. Start adding in the MCQ's. I found doing them right after

reading the sections, helped retain the information much better, and my scores go up. Also, then

I am not just reading or MCQ's all the time. It breaks it up some.

    You can do this!

    Hello jj1400,

I think one month is efficient amount of time to study FAR.

They way I see it is, too much time is inefficient time. I was suppose to take my exam the last day of the 2nd quarter, however, dropped out the last minute and now I am going to take it this coming week. Too be honest, I think I forgot a lot of the material I was studying in May and June…

Also, in regards to materials, Wiley books can be a bit wordy(ESP REG) ,however, if you enjoy using them, go for it….I am currently using Wiley TB and book and reading over Becker a little bit to understand things I don't fully grasped in the Wiley books. I am also practicing timing myself for questions, since in the past, when I've taken FAR, my main problem was time/energy/focus management..

(Where are you taking your exam? NYC?) If you are, I will be more than happy to take your time slot!

    BEC: Passed
    REG: Passed
    FAR: Almost Past (lol)
AUD: I thought I passed with flying colors, but I wasn't close!
