Different Study Methods for Every Section?

I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed that they have studied differently for ever section they took? I’d like to think I’m just getting better but honestly I think it’s because these sections are just so different it’s hard to apply the same strategy…

FAR: Watched each lecture, worked each problem until the end and then reviewed entire thing focusing on weak areas of progress exams

AUD: Watched each lecture, memorized flaschards for each lecture, after all lectures were done went through multiple choice

(Note: I thought I had hit the jackpot on my AUD strategy, I left that testing center feeling great. I figured “okay so flashcards are my key to passing…”)

BEC: Tried the same method as AUD, watched each lecture and then memorized each set of flashcards and then after all the lectures tried to go back and do multiple choice and was scoring in the 50’s. I had to almost re-learn every single lecture. This was a BAD study strategy. I ended up spending the entire last week studying for BEC in the library just doing a bazillion multiple choice questions becuase I never did those when I was studying, I just used flashcards which I soon realized was useless for this section.

REG: I don’t know where I’m getting the idea for this section but it seems to be working so I’m sticking with it. I’m watching each lecture, doing the regular homework questions (NOT supplemental) but using the book to find the answers (since I’d get like 0% without the book and looking up the answers at least has me reading stuff… :-/) and then MAKING MY OWN flashcards of all important points and re-doing homework questions without the book. Leaving supplementals for review at the end. So far this method is somewhat working. This is my weakest area so I’m going to have to spend the most time on it…

Just wondering how your strategies differed…

I know right! You see the beautiful sunset and then realize you're still in jail and need to come back to reality (watching Cindy Simpson)….

    It's my driveway.

I was thinking about study strategies and I have done them very differently. I always watch the lecture and then do the homework on the topic I watch. I did all the supplemental questions for AUD and most for FAR and REG. I didn't touch flashcards for AUD, nor did I do the Becker Final Review for AUD. I probably studied the least for AUD yet that is my best score.

For FAR, I've watched the Becker lectures twice and I'm halfway through the Yaeger ones. I've been through the Becker questions at least 4 times in the last year and working on the Wiley ones now. I plan to do the Becker FAR Final Review for the third time the weekend before my exam. For me, FAR, and probably BEC too, the key is working the questions: learning the tricks they pull, reading the dates carefully and recognizing the call of the question.
