Last night, I finished a great session in the FAR Ninja MCQs-I was trending nicely! Fast forward…today…I’m getting killed. Can you say my confidence just tanked. UGH! Let me get back to the death session. Wish me luck.

Yup it happens. I would have days where I would score in the high 60s-70s in one session then completely tank the next session with like in the 30s-40s. When it comes to these exams you don't know what you don't know. That's why it's best to do as many MCQ as you can to identify your weak areas, review, and then go from there.

Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this! But as SupperAccountingGod stated above, the “bad” exams are those laden with your weak subjects while the “good” one's where you're scoring high are usually full of the topics/subjects you're good at.

You both are right. I just finished another session (until later) and I don't think anything hurts quite as much as the questions you “almost” get right. Whew! Honestly, on those, I'm glad I'm at least in the ballpark, but man oh man…it hurts LOL

Ugh! My test is in a week and I'm now focused on working only the new questions. I'm still trending at 81% and I feel like falling down on my face because I'm getting questions on information I didn't even know existed. So frustrating!

I never focused on the score–it's like agonizing on your weight when trying to slim down. When you don't hit the number, it devastates you.

Fact is, you can't know what you will get on exam day.

Instead, focus on trying to improve your knowledge base. Can you explain to a layperson how (eg.) how non-commercial exchanges work and make them understand? If so, you should know it enough to pass.

Keep putting in the work. Just like with eating right and regular exercise, trust that you will get the results you need.

Don't get too caught up in your trending scores – the important thing is to LEARN from your mistakes. I rather get destroyed before the exam, then on the real thing. The key to FAR is mastering anything JE related, knowing the ins and outs of the big areas (yes, use the Blueprints), and having a solid time strategy going in. As long as you're learning from your wrong answers, you should be fine. In my opinion, the exam MCQs are much simpler than NINJA / Becker / Gleim, etc. Hope this makes you feel a little better.
