Hi everyone,

I have passed 3 exams and FAR is my last one. I literally have not even got past the 1st Chapter (F1) – using Becker, and my NTS is expiring this Friday in which I have FAR scheduled.

I planned FAR way ahead of time, a couple months ago and just got my passing score for BEC the last testing window so hence no studying or much done for FAR.

Since I have nothing to lose as my NTS is already paid for and my exam is already set, do you guys recommend I just go in the test center and just take it? I know I am already going to fail, so I plan on just taking it to get a feel for FAR and you never know, I might get lucky and get that 75 lol.

Does this sound crazy?

I did the same thing for AUD once…went in without studying (NTS expiring) and scored a 69 for the heck of it.

I vote go for it!! You're already out the money so you might as well go and get a real feel for what it will be like. Hopefully it will make you more comfortable for when you have prepared and go to attack it. Good luck!!

If you have the Wiley Test Bank, just do as many practice sessions as you can and read why it is right & wrong. And with a bit of luck you may just pass.

Well, you're right..you probably will fail. But if you don't take it you have 0% chance at passing – at least with taking it there is some % that you get lucky and pass. You've already paid for it so you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain in my opinion. If nothing else like Wendy said at least you will get to see the exam and it should help you prepare for the next go at it.

You've already spent the money, so why not? Do as many MCQs as possible, utilize the AL on sims, see what happens. I agree with @Adamdenton1, sitting it out gives you a 0% chance, so why not give it a shot? Let us know how it goes!

I agree with everyone else. Take it for the hell of it. Maybe you will get lucky and pass (and piss off everyone else who studied their asses off and failed)!

I am only through F4 and I was considering doing the same thing because FAR is my last exam too and I am burnt out from studying for the past 6 months. But my NTS doesn't expire until after the next window and I really don't want to waste the $.

You're so close to being done, you don't want to be studying again next window! Pull out all the stops, take time off work if you can, study as many hours as humanly possible this week. Crazy or not give yourself the very best chance you can at being done.

Well, I just had this experience! I finished my AUD test in mid of April and I scheduled my FAR on 25th May. But I even didn't finish half of CPA excel!!! I was so struggling! but what I can do was to take a chance to see if I can get ” if I am lucky…”

On 24th, I was trying to find my test time confirmation email but I cannot find it! OMG! So I called prometrics and they said the website didn't go through my confirmation!! What a day!! Then I checked all the test centers in Boston, nothing left in May!! My husband said that maybe I should do it in July…but my first test, REG will expire in Dec2013. I really would like to take it even I know the result is not guaranteed! Suddenly, we found that 26th May, in Worcester MA, there were some open seats. Then I went….to be honest, not felt good, kind of bad! they test a lot of __________and __________…OMG! Also, _______________in SIM! just killed me!!!

I don't expect my result but I still suggest that you could go but don't put a lot of hope on it! FAR is a hard one!

@Shan – Worcester is my favorite Prometric, by far!

@HighRiskHighReward – Definitely go for it! I took FAR 2 years ago after only studying 3 chapters and I completely BOMBED. But FAR is my weakest area. I took Audit after only studying 2 chapters and got a 71. Go for it!

@Neika822–right!! I liked that place but I hate FAR!!! I am so glad you are also in MA! My goal is also to finish all the tests in 2013!!! For AUD, I have redo the same thing two times and did tons of questions but I did three times 73!! 🙁 do you have some good idea on this one for me??

By the way, do you have any good suggestion on Far? I am planning to take it again in August then! Thanks!!

Shan – For AUD, I had Becker, the whole NINJA set, and the Wiley TB. For each section, I take tons of notes, which helps me with the ‘big picture'. Then doing the Becker and Wiley questions help me understand the tiny details. I worked in Audit for a year too, so that helps.

FAR, I have no idea. I'm on chapter 2 of Becker and I'm already lost 🙂 FAR is not my strongest subject.

@mla – Thankfully, my sister lives in the Worcester area, so I get a free place to stay :). The Boston one has poor parking options, so I always need a ride or I'll take the T. I took an exam up in Lowell once and that was the scariest place I've ever been. haha. Never went to the Burlington one!

Burlington is SO easy to get to, always empty (except an 8am exam), great parking and right across from the mall. Funny at the time it seemed so far away to me (I'm in Danvers) and now I work here 🙂
