So I get to Prometric for FAR and they seat me in a one computer room office adjacent to the proctors. My own room, nice right? It was 12:30 on Saturday and they were very busy, so I could hear the lady check everyone in…annoying but I tuned it out. Then a crazy person comes out and needs to go to the bathroom, but there are a few people who came out at the same time so he couldn’t be signed out right away. He starts to yell and says he is losing time and the lady is telling him to calm down and he eventually yells “I will just go pee at my desk” and then heads back into the tersting room. About 10-15 minutes later he comes out again and is very loud, they sign him out and when he comes back he makes another scene before heading back to the testing room. Maybe 20 minutes later he is back out arguing with the staff and they eventually move him to the lobby…unfortunately I can hear everything because he is so loud. After half hour he must have finally left. Then the staff were talking back and forth after he left…I looked out at them and gave them the universal shhhh sign. I know that was rude but I had lost my focus at that point. The test itself was not terrible…maybe squeaked out a 75.

that sounds totally insane. At least you maintained a good disposition. 🙂 I have never encountered anything like that at my center.

Yeah, no kidding, I would have a real hard time staying focused with a hoopla like that going on! I have to say my Prometric center has been really good, only once I had to wait an hour and a half before taking a test because of their computer system. They said if I couldn't log on after two hours I could go home and reschedule without paying a new fee, that didn't happen unfortunately. That was the worst testing experience I had because I also had a horrible cold which left me with a runny nose, migraine, freezing and achy body. So to be there for a total of 5 1/5 hours feeling like crap was not easy. They wouldn't even let me bring in tissue or cough drops….I felt so bad for the people next to me listing to me sniff every few minutes. I failed the test miserable at any rate.

Rude? Whatever…you deserve a reward for keeping your cool. I hope you left comments about your experience at the end of your exam.

oh wow. You'd think Prometric would have a way to handle it better than they did. Either way, I strongly suggest soft ear plugs. I sat next to a groaner at one of my exams (far less stressful than what you experienced) and it was unbelievably distracting.

At the end of my exam, there was no survey…unbelievable I sent an e-mail to candidate care about my experience. Will be interested with their response. The administrators were very apologetic afterwards. They said this was the first time anything like that had ever happened…they didn't really know what to. Oh well, on to Audit.

I have to say that is awful. I would probably have contacted Prometric to file a complaint. It won't help you, and honestly it was mostly that crazy person's fault for being so noisy, but the staff should have cancelled his exam and kicked him out.
