This will be my last section and I just want to get it over with for good. My plan afterwards will be to study for the GMAT for the next six months and apply to accounting PHD programs in October.

Exam Date: March 9th
Review Course: Gleim (passed other 3 with it on first try)
Current State: completed first 2 units (there are 20 units)
Study Hours per day: 8-10 (I’m in a full-time MPAcc program in a dead city).
So here is how I do my review.

I start by studying an entire unit. Afterwards, I focus on each individual sub-unit within the unit (Gleim has 20 units and each unit has 4-11 individual sub-units)

Once I finish reviewing a sub-unit, I quickly turn to the question bank and answer every MCQ related to that particular sub-unit. I usually average in the 80s on the first try since I try to make sure I understand the sub-units when I’m studying. Any questions I get wrong, I make sure to review and redo until I answer everything correctly on the first try. Once that is accomplished, I move on to the next sub-unit and repeat.

After completing a whole unit, I then follow the Gleim prompts which pretty much make me do two sets of practice MCQ tests (usually 20 questions) and two sets of Simulations. I usually score perfect on the MCQs since I already did them in the question bank. Afterwards, Gleim will tell me to move on to the next unit.

Everyday, I make sure to review all completed units by answering 100 questions for each completed unit. So since I have only completed two units so far, today I reviewed by going through 200 questions on those two units. I plan to do this every day until the last week. My guess is by then, I would pretty much have memorized the earlier topics and it wouldn’t be of any benefit to review them in my last week. Instead my last week would be focused on the last 5 units which heavily include governmental accounting and NFPs. That week, I plan on doing 500 MCQs each day and all simulations. Basically that last week will be dedicated to really nailing Gov/NFP. Then I’ll take a Gleim Practice test and the AICPA practice test and hope for the best!

Note: This is a new method I’m trying out for my FAR section. I did not use this method for my previous sections although I still passed them on the first try. As a matter of fact, I barely focused when I was studying for the other sections. But I’m definitely locked in for this one.

Seems like a solid plan. The one thing I regret not doing was cumulative MCQs at least once a week to keep the earlier topics fresh.
There are so many little details and exceptions, etc. I'd be careful not to skip over the review of the earlier chapters, even if its just keeping those MCQs fresh.
