You guys/girls should all study instead of wasting your time “blogging”.

Blogs are for information…not entertainment. I want to pass the exam. I am testing to earn the credential to put myself in a situation where I can enjoy the things in life that make me happy…Accounting does not make me happy. Although I see that for some of you, accounting is your life. Nothing wrong with that, but no need to bash on other people because they do not want to do accounting forever.

If you are done with your tests and still write 200 word responses on these threads that do not provide information to pass sections, get a life. No one wants you commenting on other peoples failures….go to a strip club if you want attention…Let’s be hones…there is only so much satisfaction you can get from being “virtually cool”. BUT YOUR NOT.

Refer to the site for information, study to pass, and move on. Jeff has made a great site for all of us to work together to pass, not to talk trash or make fun of people for fun. I drink and partake in other extra curriculars (for all of your sheltered people that is the appropriate way to say I do drugs) for fun….not reconcile bank statements and draw up complex journal entries on investment acquisitions.

Good luck on upcoming exams everyone.

I think that as long as there is the potential to be inducted into what I call the “Best Trolling Thread” Hall of Fame, that these types of unnecessary flaming posts will continue. It's to bad.

@OP…you do has a point here, and I used to think like you. I have been here for quiet a while, and I have seen bloggers complaining/venting how much they are running of time studying. Yet they can write an article about it. That was why my thinking was like yours. However, last month the site hasn't posted any new blogs for a while, and I actually missed reading it. I realized anyone is different. Even though I am NOT a blogger/facebook fan myself, it doesn't mean other shouldn't do it or just pure waste of time. When I need a study break, I went out to the bars, watch a movie, or get a massage or something. You can't study all the time, and these bloggers might just need a place where they can take a break from studying, and in turn help their studying. If someone spent LOTS of time here and not passing the exams, there will be a problem. Otherwise, I don't see a little blogging would do much harm on your way to CPA.

UnderemployedCPA, I'm not sure you know the story behind the red panties, but it by no means is that.

I decided to blog for a couple of reasons… The benefits Jeff so kindly provided, to be more accountable, and to just get frustration off my chest. I work with one CPA, and the rest are Medical staff. I do not have many to share my successes and failures with that REALLY understands the experience. I was so happy when I found this site, because it reassured me that I wasn't the only one dealing with unnecesasary torture, also known as the CPA exam. It is healthy to have outlets, and unhealthy to bash or judge others for their choice of outlets. Just because someone has completed the exam, does NOT mean they suddenly can't offer advice or word of wisdom. They were in the trenches too…

Just to clarify, I was thanking KasiaS for contributing to the forum. And it does not mean what underemployed CPA thinks it means. It was a different forum and in her culture, there is a tradition to wear red underpants to bring luck on testing (not just cpa, any testing). Correct me if I am wrong, Kasia though, want to make sure I don't mess up the meaning of the tradition! I was doing a little research and thought I read it is of European decent. 🙂 So she had mentioned above about contributing and I giggled thinking, you sure did…you introduced us all to a new good luck charm! Anyways, it has been a weird day of posts. Time for pizza and a night off then power weekend ahead, me and Cindy Simpson have a date!

Mom2Two, you're absolutely correct. I'm not sure what the true origin of the tradition is, but I'm Polish and this superstition has always been part of my culture.

SN – if you're “so busy studying” then why are you wasting your time trashing others when we are here to support eachother?

I'm glad people who passed stick around and offer advice. They've been there done that. Who else would we get ideas from to help us pass this beast!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
