    Hello,

    I am a newly member of this site. I am currently in school, majoring in accounting. I would like to obtain my CPA, but was wondering what programs are good out there. There are so many out there, I am trying to be selective on which will benefit me, as well as my budget. However, if certain programs offer great insight at the same time is price, so be it.

    Hellow, first welcome to another 71 🙂

    second, I would suggest you go to youtube and see some demo videos, I personally like Roger if you want to know 🙂 only you know what works best for you, plus they are free videos, it is good to check it out.

    Good Luck!!

    @atelery – Did you use Roger in addition to Becker? I checked out a couple of the Roger videos and he was a little bit much for me. lol. I know some people really like that though.

    @cpa2k12 – Definitely check out all the demos. There are a ton of review courses for various styles of learning and various budgets. Becker is probably the best, but it is also the most expensive. People have success just using Wiley books. Also just out Yaegar, CPA Excel, Roger, ExamMatrix, NIU Correspondence (shout out to KasiaS), etc., etc.

    I thought Roger was a bit too much.. well, too much of something, as well…

    I think CPAexcel is amazing, and they have a free trial that you can use on their website to check it out. I've written a ton of reviews about it on this site, so I'm not going to spell it all out again… But if you search this site for my posts or CPAexcel, I'm sure you can find them.

    @Mini,

    no, haha!! I guess it wouldn't be fair for me to say “I like Roger.” LOL, I like Roger based on all his demo videos on youtube, but I downloaded every single one of his demo videos to my ipod and listen to him everywhere for my second time audit, haha!! yaya, I told some of my friends to invest Roger, they were like “I don't like him.” I went “HUH?!” hahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!! I like him because he keeps me awake and helps me stay focus 🙂

    Wow, this forum is awesome…. I am gonna graduate in may 2012. Technically I wanted to take it after I graduate unless A) I find a job, or B) I don't find a job I will review and take it there after.

    Thank you all for support and recommendation. I will check it out. Have a nice holiday!

    I wouldn't even worry about buying your first part until you're 2 months out from your exam.

    Watch demos before you drop the equivalent of a month's rent on a section.

    @Mini, thanks for the shout out! You definitely cracked me up!

    Yes, I very highly recommend NIU Correspondence. I absolutely loved the flexibility of having an audio course and the materials are so well written that, if you follow the NIU formula, you're nearly guaranteed to pass. I half-heartedly studied for REG, walked out certain I failed, but I still passed. NIU is awesome at focusing on the most important topics and making them easy to understand. I preach about the course every chance I get! (Not a paid advertiser or anything, I just love the course!) 🙂
