So does anyone go into FAR with a lot of confidence of knowing all the material? Or is it just me that no matter how many hours I put in that I’ll never be comfortable with it all…

Very rarely do CPA Candidates go into to an exam with confidence. I wasn't with the last three exams of BEC, REG, and AUD. Going into FAR on July 30th, won't be much different. I just plan on making the most and best use of the time available to increase my chance of passing. One way or the other you'll have to face the music.

HELLL NOOOO. Don't be discouraged, you aren't the only one. Many of us do not know if we failed or pass until score release day. Just put in the work, and you will get rewarded.

    BEC - 76 (1/24/15)
    REG - 82 (4/13/15)
    AUD - 89 (5/31/15)
    FAR - 78 (8/16/15)

Starting right now I'll be strong
    I'll play my fight song
And I don't really care if nobody else believes
'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me

I'm beginning to think that if you have that level of confidence you have:

    1) Gone through the MCQ's so many times that you've memorized the answers, or

    2) A mental disorder giving rise to delusions of grandeur

I shoot for a confidence level wherein I believe myself capable of obtaining an 80 on any given section and leave a room for error of +/- 5 pts.

Anything more and you've wasted time that could have been spent studying to pass the next section (or getting a good nights sleep before exam day).

    Good luck tomorrow!

Thanks guys… this is my first CPA exam and I just graduated from school where I was the type of person who was over prepared for every test.. well most tests that weren't on Monday mornings after a fun weekend. But again thank you for the advice. I was feeling like there was something wrong with me because I couldn't retain everything.

I've felt confident going into each exam I've taken, but I was very nervous for each.

I was confident in knowing that I've done as much as I can to prepare. I would shoot for that type of confidence.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

I agree with okcpa. Confident in passing, eh… I've never met any fellow candidates who had that. However, confident I've worked hard to prepare, confident my work has gotten me to a position of being capable of passing the exam, etc. That is attainable.

    FAR - 75
    AUD - 78
    BEC - 82
    REG - 77

Unfortunately, many CPA candidates don't feel confident going in to take the test, and some feel even worse coming out of the testing center like they have been hit by a truck. But they ended up passing anyway. Just remember, don't rush. For FAR, you have 4 hours and 30 minuted to complete the exam, so take advantage of the time you have. Don't try to breeze through it just to get it over with. I heard of many people failing because of this.

I was pretty confident, but for each exam I have taken there were a few topics that I just had to accept that I didn't know and would not get right on the exam if I was asked a question on it.

    AUD- 99
    FAR- 93
    BEC- 90
    REG- 94

@CWang009 – FAR is only 4 hours long. You don't want to make that mistake!

    FAR - Passed (82)
    BEC - Passed (76)
    AUD - Passed (89)
    REG - Passed! (81)

Taking FAR on Thursday and not feeling as confident as I did on BEC and AUD. Just have to trust the process and that you've put in enough work to get a passing grade.
