I bought computer glasses for studying for the CPA exams. I never needed these glasses before!

My computer glasses are focused at 20 inches. They are great. Is anyone else using computer (CPA) glasses?

What are computer glasses? Like reading glasses for closer focus? I wear glasses but I don't have anything specifically using a computer.

75 CPA – I think I saw in one of your posts that you are 64 right? maybe just always having to look at the computer screen, etc. and reading small print caused it.

i wear either contacts or glasses all the time so whether i am reading, looking at the computer, etc. i always am wearing one or the other. i prefer to wear contacts to the exam because sometimes you get smudges or marks on your glasses and you aren't allowed to bring anything into the testing center, which means i would have to clean my glasses with my shirt! no thanks.

    AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

I wish i knew those exist. I did specifically buy reading glasses just to do endless MCQ's all day.

I wear bifocals. However, bifocal glasses are not good for looking at a computer all day. Therefore, I had my optometrist measure the distance between a computer and my eyes. That distance was 20 inches for me. I had the optometrist make an extra pair of glasses. My computer screen is now always in focus!

I wear my bifocals when I go into the CPA exam and I carry my computer glasses in my hand. I plan to continue using these computer glasses after I become a CPA. These glasses always stay by my computer.

Sometimes I forget that I have my computer glasses on. When I get up from my computer everything is out-or-focus!

I have two sets of glasses.

One set is the ones I drive in, watch tv in, wear becase I have crappy vision.

Second set has a weaker script so that I can look at small font everyday. I am on excel 8 hours a day. My vision used to get blury and give me headaches, the weaker script allows my eyes to focus on the computer screen.

Note: I get headaches if I use my computer glasses to drive since the weaker script.

Hmmm… There should be some kind of medical reimbursement from the AICPA regarding this. I've had 20/20 vision for most of my life. It all changed when I started studying intensely for the CPA exam. I now wear glasses for working on the computer and for reading. They have anti-glare which is supposed to help with the computer screen and I'm also desperately in need of extra strength drops for severe dry eyes…. who would've thought?

Aud- Pass, BEC- Pass, FAR- Pass, REG- Pass.... Done!
