    Hi,
Has anyone had to change the review course from Gleim? I just had to change my review course from Gleim to Wiley CPAExcel. I was finding Gleim to be extremely difficult and felt completely incompetent to give the FAR exam. The highest complication with Gleim is that it does not let you move forward without demonstrating proficiency in a certain unit. Also, the material is definitely overwhelming. I would need at least 6 months to prepare for FAR using Gleim which I don’t have. I am sitting for FAR on Oct 1. I have had Wiley since about a little over a week, but I have become a big fan of its bite sized lessons, questions and flashcards for every lesson. Moreover, it enlists all the lessons you need to complete per day which I was looking for in a review course meaning, to tell me exactly what to do everyday. So, I am curious to hear your experiences. Thanks for sharing.

I don't know if you can study full-time but Wiley's FAR course is pretty extensive, and a bit overboard with obscure details which would never show up in my opinion. I used Wiley Platinum for FAR, and while I did pass, I felt that the course schedule didn't leave nearly enough time to review (or it assumed I would learn Gov't/NFP accounting from the ground up in a day). Initially I liked the ‘bite-sized' lessons as they love to call it, but some take much longer to learn and digest/process, so that can screw your timeline up and you might feel like you're falling behind.

Although I passed, I knew I needed another review course for the other 3, so tried Roger and stuck with that and it worked out fine. Of course everyone is different and Wiley has worked for countless candidates, but just wanted to give you my feedback. Also, set your ‘test date' on the Wiley calendar at least 2 weeks before your actual exam so you actually have sufficient time to review, best of luck.

Edit: Also, I followed all lessons and SIM practices for a while also – depending on your time frame, I wouldn't worry about practicing their SIMs. They take a ton of time without enough knowledge gained and didn't really help for the test (except the DRS – you get a feel of how to approach it).

Same. I've had “bite sized lessons” with like 30 min videos lol smh.
