Is it just my (mis)understanding or are the definitions for Investment activities and Financing (Capital & Related Financing) activities for FASB & GASB the opposite of each other?

    My understanding (simplified):

    FASB Investing: purchase/sale of PP&E

GASB Investing: purchase/sale of debt/equity instruments, dividends

FASB Financing: purchase/sale of debt/equity instruments, dividends

GASB Cap & Related Financing: financing for capital assets (i.e., PP&E)

I know this isn’t a huge topic on the exam but it should be simple enough for me to get straight. Any input/insight would be much appreciated.
