So I have about 15 years of experience within various aspects of the Financial Services industry. Trading, brokerage, operations etc…Received my MBA from a smaller school in Chicago a few years back and just finished my CPA. Any advice as to what avenues to explore, how to market myself and which careers my background would fit best with?

Internal Audit in a bank comes to mind. From what I've heard, they like to see Series 7 licenses because it shows you have a background to the business model.

I'll also add that you can always mention your knowledge of different areas of financial services. This is definitely a plus in IA, since you're doing operational audits. It's also helpful in internal control audits, since being familiar with the processes helps you understand the risks better.

In terms of other credentials, I would think the CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) would be a huge plus if you're looking into IA at all. The exams aren't that tough from what I hear.
