I need some career advice from you guys.I interned at this company during the summer and it had it’s slow points but I thought it was because it was summer and I was just an intern. I started full time in Feb 2011 thinking that it would be a great place to work at while I study for the CPA and finish getting my 150 hours.

However, I have very little “actual” work. I have told my boss on numerous occasions that I have nothing to do and asked if she had anything I could help her on etc. She laughs it off and never gives me more work.

Here’s the question, how do I ask for more responsibilities? Should I just be content in not doing anything for the time being? Help!

Are you able to study while at work? If so, I say wrap up REG and then move on to something more fullfilling.

    REG - 85, Rawrrrrrr FAR - 88

Wow, that's not a good sign or situation to be in. You should focus on looking elsewhere if they keep you idle. There's a higher risk it may not work or the boss may be holding you back. Unless they just don't have time now to train you. Perhaps continue looking at the same time. Doesn't hurt in this case – as being idle is a potentially bad sign – especially in this economy.

    AUD - Passed:)
    FAR - Passed:)
    REG - Retake TBD
BEC - Missed by 3 points Retake TBD

Thanks guys! I have been studying at “work” so hopefully REG goes well. I've had a few interviews but no dice 🙁

Get paid to study. Trust me, you don't want to have the opposite situation. Then take your credentials and get a job with a better workload.
