I know on the surface, that sounds like a stupid question. But how can the MCQ be 70% of your grade if the exam is adaptive (gets harder if you do better)?

Consider this… if you consider this a 100 point test (I know its only 99, but 100 for simplicity), that would imply that if you got them all right, you’d get 70 points, which I would think further implies that they give you 70 points worth of “medium” questions to start off. Well, if you do well on testlet 1 (assume you get them all right), then testlet two you get harder questions that are worth more, then you do well on that you get 30 more questions that are harder and worth more.

Well, if the number of questions are static (90 questions (15 don’t count)), and the only variable is how much each question is worth, then how can the final result (70 points) be static?

Under my logic, if you score perfectly on the first three testlets, shouldn’t that be worth MORE than 70 points? They say the exam isn’t curved, yet the math doesn’t work out.

Is it that they say you get a certain amount of points, then you multiply that by 70%? As in, let’s say I score 95 points through MCQs, then they multiply that by 70 % meaning I get 66.5 points before sims?

32CPA the 70 is a weight that applied to the multiple choice questions. So at best you could only get a 70 on the multiple choice. So if you got 95% of the problems right, the 95% would be multiplied by a weight of .70. So your score for the MCQ would be a 66.5%. If you got 70% of the multiple choice questions right your score would be a 21% (.7x.3) for a combime score of 88.

Gotcha! Thanks a lot. I was thinking along those lines, but hadn't heard anyone say that.

Sox fan… Great advice! I did that until now that I took the exam and am overanalyzing my performance (in past tense)… before taking it, didn't care about grading!
