Hi guys this my fist post here

I have approved to sit for the CPA exam in CA, and I will sit for FAR and BEC in august 2010.

my problem is now I want to select the other two exams so I can sit for them in the next window.

So I have created the ($100 Fee for First-time Applicants) instead of the ($50 Fee for Repeat Applicants ) is this okay?? and is it going to affect my current application.

All I want to do is to pay for the other two exams that I didn’t pay for.

    I’m very concern

Please reply me as soon as possible.

Well since she hasn't even graded the discussion forum post yet, I'm almost positive the EARLIEST the grades would post is 6/30.

Great, thanks hasy! I was gonna use one of those free apps on my phone but decided just to pay so that I don't get my application rejected over my damn picture lol

EDIT: are you going to send in your application the same day your transcripts get sent out from Foothill? Is there a reason not to send in the application a couple days prior to the transcripts being sent considering it takes them a month to assemble everything anyways?

I highly recommend sending transcripts BEFORE sending the application.

I imagine if they received your app packet first, they'd see you are missing items and set it aside. Then when your transcript comes in, who knows how long until they get back to your app packet.

If your transcript is sent first, they'd log it on your profile and would be able to immediately finalize your app packet when received.

This is the logical sequence to me, but who knows.

By the way, how did you two get the Foothill ethics course? I've tried for 3 semesters now. My registration date/time is ALWAYS after the classes are completely filled through the waitlist. It's beyond frustrating.

Thanks CPYay for the advice. Makes sense to me.

Also, for the course I just signed up for the spring semester and went to sign up for the class on the first day I was eligible and there were a couple sections that had open slots. I don't know if I just got lucky or what. As I recall only 2 out of the 5 sections were completely booked when I signed up. The other 2 or 3 sections all had room to join.

FYI take it with Professor Drake…super easy course and lenient grader!

I have yet to be that lucky! I'll take whatever instructor I can get at this point haha…

I'm taking Payroll Accounting at Foothill right now. I have nothing else to do while I wait to register for Ethics, plus I'm hoping the extra units will boost my registration time.

Congratulations on being finished! I bet that feels amazing. Let us know when you submit your app so we can gauge the timing. I heard it takes a looooong time.

@CPyay, I literally signed up the moment my registration was deemed available. I should have done it at midnight, maybe I would have been in for sure. I did it at 8 in the morning and got waitlisted fifth or something. I personally emailed the professor (Drake) and wrote about how I need this class due to the aid and CPA license and she let me in. Take HER class. There is no way you won't pass, unless you miss a midterm or final or something. But she always lets the first five on the waitlist in anyhow.

    @Needsa75
, Even though I'm pretty desperate to be licensed quickly, I'm just going to send my transcript like the cheapest mail. Since at this point, we prob won't be licensed until august anyhow. I always sent in my transcript first before the application. Since the application always took longer to complete.

EDIT: Oh! I just found out too. Final grades are posted on July 3rd.

@hasy, I already sent in my alma matter transcript as well! All I have to do is wait for this grade to post and then mail in my application (and wait)…this feels like the never ending process from hell!

@CPYay, definitely try to register with Prof. Drake on the first day you are eligible…Good luck and I will keep everyone apprised as to how long the licensing process takes!

Professor Drake isn't teaching the summer courses. I'm going to reach out to the other instructors and see if they can help. Fingers crossed!

Got an 88 on the final and 93% in the class. Piece of cake…now just waiting for grades to post!

@NeedsA75, I waited for my transcript posted (Foothill) and sent my application at the same time I requested the transcript to the board. If I do it again, I would rather send my application now and send the transcript whenever it is ready. Since mine took so long, I would try differently. Just FYI. Good luck!

@ultrarunner, thanks! Do you remember how long it took after you took the final exam at foothill for your grade to post to your transcript?

I'm paranoid that by sending my application first I'm going to cause confusion and delay the process further..

Thanks @john! So was there any correspondence during the time period from when you mailed your application and received the preapproval letter? It was my understanding that the CBA will contact you to let you know that they have all required components to review your application

I just got licensed recently and I think this will be helpful:

03/04/17 – Requested UCLA Extension to send my ethics class transcripts to CBA overnight.

03/21/17 – Mailed application form to CBA

    05/19/17 – Received pre-approval letter (letter was dated 05/16)

05/20/17 – Received letter stating information was complete to be reviewed (letter dated 05/15) – I should have received this before the pre-approval and payment.

05/20/17 – Sent the additional payment via overnight to the CBA

    06/08/17 – Check cleared

06/12/17 – My name and number was on the CBA website…the day I officially became a CPA :)!

06/20/17 – Received my wall certificate

06/22/17 – My 14×17 frame from Amazon arrived.

06/26/17 – Received a piece of paper as my CPA licenses “card”

    I hope this helps!

PS…I also have a friend who sent her information on December, and we officially got licensed at the same time

@needsa75 Weird part is, I got the letter everything is complete after I received the approval letter (it was dated a day before).
