Brain fart on exam day = the end of my FAR.

    So here’s the deal folks…

I graduated last December and decided to take 6 months off (Live Becker) to get the CPA out of the way once and for all.

So I’ve been at it for 10 weeks now, and I’m going for one of the beasts first (FAR) this Saturday the 25th…

I’d like to say I moved to a quiet state that I knew nobody whatsoever in to clear my mind from distractions. I’ve been putting in a solid/focused 4-5 hours a day less Saturdays (8 hour Becker Brain Fry days) and Sundays which I just take off to relax and stay focused. I was killing 2 sections per week, with all the MCQ’s associated with them. Scored around 70%-80% on all of them on the first try. I also wrote down my own flashcards for every section, I believe I’m at around 200 flashcards overall.

My study plan for the final week review is as follows:

    21st: 1-4 review + MCQ’s

    22nd:5-7 review + MCQ’s

    23rd: 8-10 review + MCQ’s

24th: sample exam in the morning, relax and sleep early.

I feel like I’ve been going too fast, or perhaps all the book memorized is proving to be more dangerous than helpful because I find myself mixing up some rules in my head when I go over everything in my head. I feel like I’ve studied well but at the same time I feel way underprepared.

Could somebody who has been in the same boat, or have had a similar experience please put in some info?

    Thank you!!!

@cpatime , I think you are doing well in terms of preparing for the exam. However, in my humble opinion, I think its better to do the sample test at least 2 days before the exam day to evaluate you weak topics and re-emphasis on those areas.

Good luck buddy. My big day is on 29th Feb. Wish me luck bro.

Good luck to us all friend, I'm afraid we will need it.

I wanted to schedule for the 29th 🙁 but received my NTS too late and only found a spot for the 25th…So I had to cut my review time and rush my study time…

Oh and edit to the OP…It's been 5 weeks, not 10….Brain fried at 2 am I apologize. I wish I had 10 weeks to study for it 😛

10 weeks are too much, I don't think we need that much time to prepare for FAR. Yes it is lengthy and so many concepts to memorize but its all about how much you can retain on the exam day. For me I cant keep that huge amount of concepts fresh in my head for long 10 weeks!!
