Can someone explain the difference between boot paid and boot received? This is in reference to Becker F2 nonmonetary exchanges. When a transaction lack commercial substance and the gain rules become applicable.

The important thing to remember is boot received – in a nonmonetary exchange that lacks commercial substance boot received is when you will record a full or partial gain. There is no gain recorded on boot paid. If your using Becker it has a Sim in 2011 that explains it really well.
