I know its pretty variable, but what did everyone get for a pay increase (5%, 10%, more?) and for a bonus when you passed your CPA? Were your exam costs reimbursed as well?

Also what size firm were you at, and how long did it take for you to pass your exam?

I guess I would like to know what to expect or what to ask for when I get my license.

    Thanks

Alabama large regional -$2000 if pass in the first year, $500 or 1000 if pass in second yr eligible. Walking papers after that if you don't pass. They reimburse for exam sitting fees although I was told they only reimburse at the beginning of Jan. No raise for passing. Pay for Becker or sign on bonus if you buy your own but have to pay back 100% if you leave within 2 years of hire date.

update: getting a $1500 bonus for passing, which was apparently a huge hard fight for my boss/other bosses in the financial department with the higher-ups. Senior management REALLY didn't want to fit in one or two of these bonuses a year into the budget. :- oh well. I'm happy about it, but more interested in the annual raise for the year (unknown until March). So many other things to be thankful for and happy about, including today being my pug Peaches' 11th birthday and my one-year anniversary of PASSING BEC THE EVILEST EXAM OF THEM ALL! šŸ™‚

    REG - 65, 70, 80!
    BEC - 35, 62, 79!
    AUD - 73, 75!
    FAR - 65, 73, 70, 75! DONE.

I work for a small regional firm and my office gives a $3,000 bonus if you pass. Raises are determined each year depending on your staff level (which could be affected by passing the CPA exam, but not necessarily).

The bonus will be a nice supplement to the many $$s spent on getting that exam over with! šŸ™‚

The bonus is never having to study for these stupid exams ever again.

    final update: raise is 3.35%

Feels really, really unfair. I sort of feel like punching walls and crying, at the same time.

Could be worse-I get no raise for passing all 4 sections of the exam, no bonus, and do not get reimbursed for my expenses. That is why I will be seriously looking for a new job ASAP after completing last two sections.
