I know its pretty variable, but what did everyone get for a pay increase (5%, 10%, more?) and for a bonus when you passed your CPA? Were your exam costs reimbursed as well?

Also what size firm were you at, and how long did it take for you to pass your exam?

I guess I would like to know what to expect or what to ask for when I get my license.

    Thanks

I'm getting reimbursed for my expenses to pass the exam, but I haven't talked to them about getting a raise for obtaining my license. I hate bringing up money, but I hope they give me a decent raise once I do bring it up. I feel like I should've mentioned it right when I started the process last year.

    Small firm in Cleveland, OH.

I get a salary increase for each part:

    1st: 1,000 increase

    2nd: 1,500

    3rd: 2,000

    4th: 3,000

So in total, I can get a 7,500 per year raise. I figured it wasn't that great of a deal but compared to what I'm reading, I can say I'm pretty satisfied now!

Any rule on posting specifically bout a firm (disclosing the firms name?)

over at going concern they don't seem to mind much (hilarious site btw awesome stuff)

anyways. Medium sized firm, right under big 4, gives 3500 bonus that lowers each year, reimburses all fees but its limited to a retake or two can't remember.

Florida sucks! LOL…. State of CA bonus for passing CPA exam is $3,600. However, it's paid in 3 equal installments every 12 months and the first installement is paid 12 months after I submitted my claim! So, $1,200 x 3 minus taxes, about $2,400 total + $350 for CPA review reimbursement….I guess it's better than nothing…….

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14
