I know its pretty variable, but what did everyone get for a pay increase (5%, 10%, more?) and for a bonus when you passed your CPA? Were your exam costs reimbursed as well?

Also what size firm were you at, and how long did it take for you to pass your exam?

I guess I would like to know what to expect or what to ask for when I get my license.

    Thanks

Check the comparable salaries for your experience level and also how is the economy in your city? In my city, they are pretty much begging for audit and tax with 4-5 years experience.

    REG 75
    FAR 88
    AUDIT 82
    BEC 74, 12/4/2013 84 Thank You Lord Jesus !!!

When I worked at a midsize regional firm I think the bonus was $1,000?? That doesn't seem right now. They had different programs during the 3 years I was there trying to encourage licensure.

Now I'm at an NPO, 8.5 years experience. They are covering all my costs… I haven't submitted my receipt for my 3rd time sitting for FAR. I feel guilty. I'm underpaid though so it all evens out. They have said they will cover all the costs to get me licensed. And once I'm licensed I'll get a raise and promotion. I think I'm going to hit them up for a raise after passing each part though. My title is Senior Accountant, but I feel like it should be Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller. I'm an underpaid Senior Accountant and a grossly underpaid of the latter two.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

I found out I passed my last exam on November 1 and have heard nothing from my boss about a raise or promotion. Like StephAV, I'd love to be promoted to Assistant Controller, as I'm also a very underpaid Senior Accountant. I want to stay here for a couple more years for the experience, but I'm seeing positions equal to mine making 10k-20k more. A little disheartening.

    R - *77*(02/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
    B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINA

    DONE, DONE, AND DONE.

This is a great question. I'm at a small firm, hopefully about to pass my last part, and I don't know what I'll get either. All I know is that I asked when I was hired if they'd reimburse me for my review course/testing expenses, and they said no. Most people at my firm who are CPAs, were already CPAs when hired, so there's no way to really determine what they'll do.

I work for Florida state government and passing the CPA has almost hurt me because now everyone thinks I”m going to leave. There is no raise and they reimbursed me 100 dollars (lol).

Nbad – I can't believe that you did not find out what your increase is in your review! That is a standard part of every review I've ever received or given. That's horrible.
