This chapter on Bonds is destroying me right now….Any tips for how I can attack this chapter that some of the points will stick a little bit better? Iv gotten a decent grip on leases but that is a rough one as well. how many questions on bonds can I expect on the exam?

i attacked bonds pretty heavy tonight….im feeling better about it. I still need to work on the convertible and detachable bonds more but for the most part I'm feeling better.

I do have a question though….

I seem to have been getting mixed up on a lot of the questions that deal with accrued interest. For example: if a bond is issued in between interest dates and the question asks “what is the carrying value of the bond at year end?”

I have been accruing the interest and adding it to the carrying value (cash received) of the bond and then trying to make up an amortization schedule like many of you have suggested. But for some reason Im just having a real tough time with this area of accrued interest.

Any advice?
