Hi hope everyone is doing well on their CPA exam journey. It has been a long one for me. I started studying right after Hurricane Sandy hit us here in New York, took REG that January of 2013, failed with a 70, then took tax season off, and managed to pass REG that July, fail Auditing that October, pass BEC that December and just passed my rematch with Audit this month. I am one test away and want to go for the gold medal now, that myself and you all have been working so hard towards.
My last round is against FAR. The sheer size of the textbook is alarming, but I just wanted to get people’s advice that have passed FAR on how they handled it? What they made sure to focus on, the strategies they used to pass? I know a few pointers are that time management is critical on this exam, and to undoubtedly know your journal entries and government/not-for-profit accounting. I’m sure you have to pace yourself and take it day by day, page by page. I am giving myself thirteen weeks to study starting this Sunday, I figured a chapter per week, like I have been doing, and about three weeks for review, with review of previous chapters on the weekends in the evenings.
Does anyone have some advice for this exam and what did you do that seemed to work? I am using Becker and the Ninja Notes.
Thanks to anyone who posts some advice and I hope you all are doing well on the journey.
