Becker's Passmaster questions are easy, are they enough?

Most computational questions in the Becker software are very straight forward and not that difficult. I have the test bank for an intermediate accounting textbook and the questions there are much more difficult and cannot be solved by studying the Becker materials, Including questions that are labeled “CPA adapted”. Which is why I’m wondering if the Becker software is enough to prepare for the exam?

If you think Becker's computational questions are easy, then I would assume you are going to do fairly well at the exam. I assume you are studying for FAR since you are using your accounting textbooks. My experience so far on with FAR has been a nightmare, and I don't consider most of the questions on Becker easy. Sure, there are questions that aren't complicated, but there are also a LOT of questions that make me feel like a complete idiot and stranger to accounting. F2, for instance, was the section that made me question whether or not I even wanted to continue studying for the exam. I wish I was in your shoes and the questions were easy for me. I guess it is all subjective. Clearly it is enough to pass, otherwise they wouldn't have the reputation they have.

Yeah, you must be some super genius if you think the questions in Becker are easy. There are a lot of sections I was getting in the 50-65% range on the homework.

    AUD (5/25/2012): 91
    FAR (10/22/2012): 89
    REG (11/28/2012): 89
    BEC (01/05/2013): 82
    Ethics Exam: 90

    IL Licensed CPA - 7/15/2013

    A long journey, officially DONE!

I meant that they are easy compared to many questions in textbooks and compared to questions from other exams.

And yes, the MCQ in F2 about matching revenues with expenses and converting between cash and accrual were by far the most frustrating for me.

wissam – I get what you're saying. The thing is that you are comparing apples to oranges. Your intermediate accounting test bank is probably more detailed than what you would likely see on the CPA exam. Remember, FAR is comprised of 3 semester-long college courses. For the CPA exam, most of the questions are going to be much higher level due to the amount of information covered. I just took FAR and I remember trying to get “extra practice” in some areas by using my intermediate accounting textbook. It just didn't work because it's more detailed and there's a bunch of unnecessary information that you don't need to know. Becker is enough, just stick with that.

Textbooks are very detailed compared to Becker; due to the fact that Becker is a review course and not an actual teaching course.

    BEC (11/17/12): 88
    AUD (1/18/13): 76
    REG (2/27/13): 88
    FAR (4/15/13): 90

I thought Beckers MCQs were difficult and that the actual exams questions were easier. Emphasis on MCQ because my sims in my exam were much more difficult than Becker sims.
