Beckers-buying on 0% finance or buying one part at a time?

Considering, I am paying myself for the books and material for Becker, which option sounds good: if you buy on 0% finance its about $200 a month VS $1145 + tax, if you buy one part at time?. Suggestions are really appreciated.

I am doing the 0% financing, but if I went back (and could afford it), I would have bought one section at a time. I wish I would have known there were cheaper reviews that may fit my learning style a little more. In that case, if you do one course with Becker, and want to punch yourself in the face everytime you hear Tim say “Alright, folks”, you could always switch it up on your next section.

HustlinHustlin, so you are saying buying one at a time is better than 0% financing?

Financing cost you less money in the long run and its always good to have cash in your bank account. Remember CASH = KING. However, I would definitely do your research, especially if your going to make such an big investment. Why do you want Becker? It is cause they have the most marketing dollars? I personally went with Yaegar cause my friend highly recommended it, and I was not disappointed. They have a very effective teaching system.

If I were paying for Becker myself, I might have bought one section at a time. My company is reimbursing me, so I went with the 0%. I got everything, books, final review & flashcards. The flashcards were a waste of money for me, but I am a huge fan of the final review. And btw, for all of this the monthly payment was $240, which they require you do via automatic funds xfer. I really do like Becker, but if I was paying myself, I think honestly I would try one of the cheaper options first, you just have to find one that works for you.

TOTALLY agree with hustlin. I bought all four parts for the 0% financing when really all I needed was the wiley books. 10% of the cost….I keep kicking myself about that. Just be very sure that becker is right for you before you go all in. After my experience, I let my friends who were thinking about buying it play around with my becker software first to see if they liked how the program was structured. Maybe there's an online demo out there, or maybe you could ask someone you know who is using it to look at theirs…just to be sure!

What does the interest rate jump to if you miss a payment? i.e. – you get laid off and need to spend that $240 on food instead.

Is the interest retroactively accrued and then added to your balance if you miss a payment?

These are common in the financing industry and you should know ahead of time.
