I failed two times with 74 always stronger on MC and weaker on WC. English is my second language, I don’t know that is problem or what? Really appreciate for suggestions….Thanks

    Welcome to another71!!!

    English is my second language too (Spanish speaker).

    For written communication I followed other another71's users guidance; stay on topic, 2 paragraphs (intro, body, conclusion), no grammatical errors, mention accounting terms thru the memo, no bullet points, no abbreviations, etc…

    To be honest, I tried to be as simple as possible. I think I made 2 sentences for intros and conclusions and 4-5 on the bodies.

    Good Luck!!

    If the ESL or LOTE program was implemented during my primary years I would have definitely be in the program. I was raised in an environment where English was not spoken well. However, I think I write better than I speak. I took BEC and was evaluated as comparable.

    My suggestion is to include the following where it applies: GAAP (this is a general term in accounting), COSO Internal Controls, ERM, IFRS, IASB. Do not abbreviate. Any general terminology basic to accounting will help but ensure to include terminology relevant to the subject matter. Also, your first paragraph reiterate the situation/paragraph provided in your own words, 2nd paragraph provide your answer using as much of the key words that pertain to the subject matter, third paragraph repeat 1st and 2nd paragraph in a combined manner as a closure. At least, this is what I did. However, I plan on doing better and trying to get a stronger rating to help me get that passing score.

    @wanttopass2

    The topics on my SIMS were easy, or at least I was comfortable with them. What I tried to do while addressing the topic was to answer on a very straight forward manner. I guess that if you add to much detail, they have more material to grade you on, or vice versa.

    Wow, stronger on MCQs which is 85% and they fail you with a 74?? What the heck?? That doesn't make any sense. Don't know why the AICPA does that.

    Thanks for the information, I will try to write short sentences. I think I didn't write in a good format either that cost me Reg. I will keep in my mind to be very precise.

    Yes, I don't understand their grading policy what AICPA want. I was very positive that i did good.I have to start all over again.
