Basic Earnings per share – net of tax or no?

    Is income used for basic EPS take tax rates into account? Not seeing anything definitive in my materials for basic EPS.

    If you're asking if we use revenue or net income, it's
    (net income – preferred dividends) / average outstanding shares
    If that wasn't what you were asking disregard

    dilutive is the only one that you *might* have to do anything with tax and that is because the interest that can be earned on bonds has to be added to net income in the numerator net of tax.

    In any case, Biff is right – net income is net of tax.
