Just curious what things you refuse to do before recieiving your score out of fear of “jinxing” yourself. I took my last section (FAR) the other day and have already broken a few of my rules. I have printed off the States certification application and have begun to fill it out. I have also enrolled myself in the ethics course.

Ha ha…Cautiously optimistic I say. 🙂

My juju:

On each of the 3 score days I've been a part of, I would cover the NASBA page with a multi-folded piece of paper (so I could not see through) and slowly moved the paper to the right so I would see the first number in the score, then the second.

I had 2 scores in the 80s and 1 in the 70s…When I saw the 7 score, I sat there for a moment and just closed my eyes, took a deep breath and then moved the rest….It was pure jubilation when I saw both the 8's right off the bat. Why do I do it that way? I don't know…I guess if the 7 shows up I still fell like I have a 50/50 shot…LOL No doubt it will be the same for the next one.

I haven't even looked ahead to the license application…but that's mainly because I still will need 3 ACG credits post-test, which I will take in May…but I could see myself sneaking some peeks if that wasn't the case.

@gr8dane, I was so sure I passed BEC in October so I started filling out the license application, wrote the story about my CPA journey, bought a bottle of moet, etc….only to find out I didnt pass. I totally ginx'd myself. But I thought if I put the “pass” energy out, I would pass since I walked out thinking that I had to pass that exam. This time around, I am not doing anything!! I also will not check my score at work! Everytime I check at work, I fail. The exams that I have passed so far was all checked at home with my big buddah picture facing my computer! I made a mistake and checked my last part at work last week because I was super anxious and sure enough, I failed.

The last two times I was waiting on my “last” score, I had put up all of the review books and video's. They were all ready for me to take out to the shooting range and then the worst! This time I've left EVERYTHING right where it was when I left to take FAR. Down to the pencil on my desk. Nothing has been moved this time. I guess I just don't want to get my hopes up and have them crushed AGAIN!
