Hey Everyone

Im preparing for my test on Monday and going through Becker Final Exam.

They have a few simulations on assertions and how they relate to the audit. For example:

Examine consignment agreements is used to (completeness, Existence, Occurrence, allocation and valuation, rights and obligations, understandability and classification)

Is the authoritative literature useful here? And if so what are the key words to search for this? Or is this something that you just have to know, or guess?

the authoritative literature will help you for every single sim on the exam i can tell you that.. make sure you use the advanced search option when searching to give it specific things to look for. I found something on all the sims when i took audit recently, so make sure you leave yourself enough time for the sims. I finished all 7 and had 2 hours left but i left the exam with 28 seconds left.. i spend the entire 2 hours searching for things and i found a lot of information that was useful. and to be honest, practicing sims dont really prepare you for whats on the exam.. im using becker too. make sure you understand A4 and A5 when it comes to the sims. hope this helps.

I'd like to see some examples as well, thank you!

Also, does anyone know of a good way to get comfortable with the SIMS literature in Becker? It's so annoying seeing the “Wrong Path” text everywhere and I feel like it's hard to get a grasp on where everything is. Thanks!

Folks,

You should bank on your understanding in audit, rather then looking for help in authoritative literature. Yes, it is there, people have passed using it, but if you master the multiple choices, understand the logic of how audit flows, it will help a lot. I was never a big fan of searching the literature, specially when you have regulation which is just 3 hours. Its doable in audit since its 4.5hrs.

Just use it like a google search…. It will spit out a lot of hits!!! Read thru them and see which one makes sense. Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice. I am very confident of my understanding of the material but I feel like I'm headed into this test not knowing exactly what is in the literature and what is not and that's not something that I'm comfortable with.

Entourage…

Go to AICPA site and there is a exact replicate of how it would look like in the real exam…You can play with it, look for key words, search words and have a bit of comfort before going in for the real thing. It helps, i have tried it….Use it
