In jan/feb window, I got 71 in Audit with the following performance:

    Understandng the engagement : Comparable

    Understanding the entity : Stronger

    Procedures and evidence : Weaker

    Evaluation and Reporting : Comparable

Accounting and Review Services : Comparable

    Professional Responsbilities : Weaker

    MCQs : Comparable

    Simulations : Weaker

I follow Becker and scheduled to appear on May 30th. I consistantly score between 75 – 80% in practice and progress tests. Weak areas : Sampling and Audit Risk. Friends, I need your guidance in improving the score.

    YoungShil….

Improve your simulations score which is 40%. it needs to be atleast comparable or Stronger for you to pass.

Looking at the above grade report, if only you had simulations as comparable you would have passed. Telling you from my personal experience. I had 2 74's in regulation and i was weaker in simulations. The moment i had a comparable i passed with a 78.

Definitely practice the simulations in your review. Another tip for you – make sure you use the authoritative literature tab on your simulations when you're taking the audit exam. Make sure you know the structure of the authoritative literature (practice research questions help), and be able to recognize in the simulation what area it deals with (AU, AR, AT etc.) I know this REALLY helped me on a few of my simulations.

I just retook Audit on April 26th, and am still waiting on my score…. The first time around my score report looked similar to yours, and I got a 73. I would suggest you practice using the authoritative literature to improve your simulation score. I used it as much as possible the second time around, and I felt much better about my performance on the sims versus the first time through when I barely used it. Granted I haven't gotten my score, but let's hope I am right 🙂 There was one of the sims I almost answered completely wrong until I found the answer word for word in the authoritative liturature. They put it there for a reason, we might as well use it. Best of luck to you!

    REG 72, 86 and DONE!!!
    BEC 80 🙂
    FAR 72, 78 🙂
    AUD 73, 76 🙂

Ninja notes/audio are great for tying everything together and picking up some points for a review. Do the sims in your review (and I have heard you can buy some from CPAreviewforfree.com for pretty cheap) and really concentrate on thinking through the topics in a different way. Work tons of MCQs in the areas of the MCQ that you were weaker in as well. Having at least comperable knowlege of all the concepts will help tremendously with the sims. Finally, as others have said, use the auth lit. Leave plenty of time (at least 1.5 hours) after your MCQs on test day to work on your sims. Treat it like an open book test. If you get stumped on one and can't find it, fill it out as best you can and come back to it after you have done a first pass through them. Using the Advanced Search and Search Within functions helped a lot.

    AUD 4/12/12 79
    FAR 5/29/12 76
    REG 8/2/12 82
    BEC 8/30/12 72 Retake 10/18/12 76!!! DONE!!!!

    Youngshil…

Sorry for the late response… Firstly, understand the flow of audit and think like a auditor. Secondly, read the question stem and see whats the call of the question. if its asking about planning, you can eliminate 2 choices right away which are not focused on planning. Doing different multiple choice questions will help you a lot. You need to see a variety of questions, you can stay with becker alone, but by the time you go for the second review of all the questions, you will have memorized the answers. thats why add a wiley test bank or gleim which has about 1600 questions.

You need to get exposed to a lot of different questions. the more questions you see the better you will get and also this will have a direct relationship to how you handle simulations as well.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

On the Audit exam, you must use the Research tab for every single TBS. Do your MCQ which should take you no more than 2 hours (it took me 1 hr 45 min), and the rest of the time, devote to TBS and utilize the research tab to confirm your answers or find answers. I passed the first time with a 93.

    Best wished to you!

    FAR Passed
    BEC Passed
    AUD Passed
    REG Passed

This morning I got a Audit Score of 72. I didn't receive the score report yet, but I am thinking that I did fairly well in simulations but the MCQs in the examination were excruciating. I did MCQs of Becker's may be 10 times and followed the lectures more than twice. Out of 90 MCQs I have identified about 12-15 MCQs that I have practiced from the passmaster and rest of them are foreign to me. The 1st testlet was medium / reasonable, the 2nd testlet was literally grilled and the 3rd testlet was easy. 12-15 MCQs identified are mostly from the 3rd testlet and may be pretest. In the 3rd testlet, I did may be at 90% accuracy and its waste bec I screwed up testlet 2. The questions were tricky and they were framed to confuse. I eliminated two answers without any difficulty but the rest of the two provides similar meaning with different wording. No matter, how many questions we practice before the exam, the same / similar questions we practiced will not appear at the exam. I learned most of the subject from the explanations provided to the incorrect answers. My mindset was framed in such a way, when I look at the question, I can automatically pick up the answer. At this point I am looking for kind of change in my preparation. Guys, who are done with audit or who are preparing for audit, please suggest, what else can be done to attain the magic figure of 75.

I also want to know, the grades assessed are based on universal standards or each state will have its own standard of grading.
