Are progress tests indicative of actual exam performance?

I have my FAR exam this upcoming Wed. and I’ve gone through the material twice as well as the MCQ with Becker and have just completed my first progress test. I scored an 83 but the fact that I’ve seen these questions already doesn’t really make me feel that much more confident about this test, lol.

Are the CPA exam questions that similar to Becker’s where these progress tests will be a good indication of our projected scores?

    Thanks for any input

On FAR my highest 100 question progress test was an 83.. I made an 84.. AUD my highest grade was an 85, I made a 70. I think I did really bad on the simulation on AUD (my scores were less than comparable). Hope that helps.

    BEC - 81 11/30/11 Praise God
    FAR - 84 7/11/11
    AUD -70,64,72, IM DONE!! 90 7/5/12
    REG - 84 10/07/11

My scores were comparable for BEC and AUD (90s), I did better on FAR than I did on most of the progress tests. (got mostly 80s on the progress test, low 90s on the real thing) I think it depends though on how good your memory is — I don't have that great of a memory — I rarely recognized specific questions, and when I did I didn't always remember the answer. I always worked the calculations, too, even if I knew the answer. I think if you find yourself memorizing the questions, it isn't quite as helpful. Unless you keep getting hundreds. Then you're probably set 😉

    Good luck!

    REG -- October 3!!
    FAR -- Pass
    BEC -- Pass
    AUD -- Pass
