Anyone plan to move to Canada to become a Chartered Accountant after CPA?

Anyone know of somebody who went from a CPA in the US to then moving to Canada and becoming their equivalent of a CPA called the Chartered Accountant. Any Googling I’ve done already is not too specific about the process and how easy it is. I thought this might be a good place to start. I know there is a reciprocity test to switch to the CA from CPA, but I also read that it might not be needed if you have a certain amount of work experience already as a CPA. Anyone know more about this? I want to move to Toronto in a few years. I live near Chicago now.

    What for? America is #1.

Actually, I don't know. I have family in Toronto and it's a fun city.

I love Chicago. Lived there my whole life, but one of the most valuable things to me is safety and piece of mind, you know, not having to look over my shoulder every second that I'm walking down the street. Chicago has the most amount of gang members out of any American city. Gun violence is 20 times worse in America than any place in Canada. Canadians are just more mellow with interacting with people I guess. In America, everyone is on guard all the time. Toronto is one of the safest big cities in the world and it's drivable from Chicago. I've never been there personally, just a lot of research about it. I hear cost of living is high in Toronto, but it couldn't be as bad as Chicago.

WOW! Really?? You wanna move to Toronto from Chicago?? I live in Toronto for soooo long, and I am doing CPA because I wanna get out of here!!!! I studied accounting in UofT, and CA did not even cross my mind after graduation, I wanna move to NYC so bad!!! I am currently registered under New Hampshire, because I only have 136 equivalent credits… I am planning to take more courses in NYC after I finish my 3rd exam, then transfer my registered states to NY!!

But Toronto is indeed a very friendly and fun city!!

I considered relocating to Canada Or Asia after CPA. Staying won't be an option for me. I'm already sort of planning everything out with my wife. Sorry Murica!
