I need to know…….did anybody in Apr/May Wave 2 pass FAR and barely touch the last simulation? This is my last exam and I am losing all hope that I will pass this time around because I hardly touched sim 2 before I ran out of time. I live in a “snail mail” state – so, it is very likely that I won’t know my score until next week sometime. 🙁 Comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

    Karen,

I was somewhat in your situtation, only, instead of not finishing one whole simulation, I missed out on parts of each. I did however complete both written sections, as I knew this was my strong suit. As it happens, and as expected, I got below average on the simulations, above average on the written portion, so it came down to how I did on the m.c. When going through the exam I was so hot and cold depending on the question. I did not really know how I was doing. I did notice however that my second section of m.c.'s became much harder than the first. I struggled through those and the third section was easier than the second, but harder than the first. Lo and behold I got my score back and scored above average on the m.c. I came out with a 78, which means I REALLY must have bombed the simulations, but I am proof you can still pass while literally failing the 20% simulation part. This was my last section, and it feels SOOO GOOD looking forward to my summer sans BECKER and the CPA.

    Good luck.

    assistantcontrollerbyday –

Congrats to you! And, thank you for your feedback. I am very concerned because the difficulty of my testlets seemed pretty consistent. I'm hoping this just means that I was just well prepared for the MCQs but who knows? In the meantime I will just keep waiting, and waiting, and waiting………..

    Hey Karen

I had about 40 minutes left for both Sims and barely touched Sim 2. I did the writing, solved one tab accurately and just filled in basic JE entries without looking at the questions and not entering the numbers in two other tabs. I just had a basic idea and just plotted some stadard journal entries

On th MC I had not a very good feeling a lot of guessing between two or three choices.Just noted that my MC2 was harder than MC1. I always do the first MC testlet very careful and it took me about 60 minutes for MC1, round about 75 minutes each for MC 2 & 3 since they were harder than MC! and I felt that I was doing horrible.

I just received my score: 77 – Actually no clue, how this happened.. So fingers crossed that you will pass too.

My first sim completely stumped me, so I went straight to the essay and research. After nailing those I went back and just starting guessing the journal entries since I knew I was running out of time (all filled out, but mostly guessed). The second sim was pretty much the same story except I ran out of time and one whole tab was left blank.Apparently my MC score was good enough to carry the bad sims, and I got away with a 79.

I had a similar experience with REG, leaving large portions of tabs blank because I didn't know how to fill out XX return (hint: most review courses skip over this return, assuming the CPA exam will never cover it).

Best of luck to you, and yes I firmly believe luck plays a big part in this process.
