I read somewhere, someone commented that he should think twice doing CPA if he was jobless and still managed to fail royally !!! Comments – negative or positive…go ahead

HazeEastwood: I received my BEC score today. I don't know what to do. I feel like the dumbest person in my office when everyone is passing on their first attempt. I've used Becker so far.

    AUD 72, 68
    BEC 71, 72
    FAR 66
    REG 72, 70

@HiddenHeadCPA: You are too close to that 75 mark to even consider quitting the process! You need to evaluate the areas that you are weak in + tweak your study plans (make notes, solve lots of MCQs if you haven't already) and you will pass!

Also, if I'm not mistaken you need to have cleared the exams to get promoted to the Manager level at the Big4. In that case, you have even more reason to push yourself harder and go kill this beast!

All the Best! You can do it!

Keep at it….I've failed BEC 4 times now…last time with a 72. I've passed 2 and have BEC and FAR to go. I finally learned why I was failing BEC was that I did not know how to really work the Cost Acct and Fin Mgmt questions. My accounting prof was possibly the absolute worst teacher, we spent the class time listening to him tell us about his life. I had to switch to Yaeger and Lambers in order to learn the cost stuff.

I took the test in 2006 failed all four my first try…then took 2 more and failed using Becker…back then my first child was born and I guess I was not really focused or determined to get my CPA. I said F it and now 4 yrs later after not being able to move anywhere in my job or to another job for that matter, I'm back in the game. I somehow passed FAR with a 76 on my first try which gave me extreme confidence then failed AUD and BEC which as you can imagine devasted me especially since I got a 58 on BEC eventhough I studied so much. I retook them in Oct/Nov and got 80 on AUD and 77 on BEC!!!!!! I purchased Yeager Cram for AUD/BEC and would highly recommend it. I'm not celebrating yet because I still need to pass REG but will do everything in my power to make sure I put my best effort.

Take this analogy and apply to your life. (WIN)

    cacpa80,

What year is the CPA Excel Review Books that you are using? Also did you purchase the entire CPA Excel review course? I passed the CPA exam and I only used CPA Excel. Granted it took me a few tries but it was more from me not putting in the time needed than the actual materials. If you don't have updated books and that is all you are using then you are going to have some problems. What's good about CPA Excel is that the online version is constantly being updated and also your access doesn't expire. It's much cheaper than Becker. With any review course you are going to have to put the time and effort into it, you just can't buy Becker and Yeager and magically pass. Plus all the review questions are coming from the same source. Also since you are not working currently, it will allow you to spend more time studying.

    FAR - 67,79 BEC - 71,73,81 AUD - 48,47,70,75 REG - 50,66,71,75

    cacpa80 and HiddenHeadCPA,

DO NOT GIVE UP!!! look at my scores and those of others the have passed. we may not have the highest scores but we have stuck with it. i have been at this for over two years and have wanted to quit many times. BUT, if you stick with it I know you will pass. the pain you feel now should only motivate you to work harder. the payoff is incredible!

    AUD - 64, 73, 83
    REG - 56, 72, 75
    BEC - 66, 73, 76
    FAR - 46, 60, 74, 75!!!!
