All Done but the Waiting

    I sat for my final section (BEC) yesterday, and I’m just checking in with you all during some of my new-found free time – LOL. This morning I got up and absentmindedly lost track of time and place and found myself reaching for the BEC study book! Old habits die hard, I guess.

    I started the study process this past May, with the hopes of passing all four parts before 2011. I’m still waiting for my Wave 1 REG score, and since I’m in Wisconsin, there is a good chance I won’t receive it until after the Thanksgiving holiday. I found that section to be on par with FAR in terms of difficulty level. While it will be disappointing, if I do not pass REG or BEC, I will be all the more motivated to study again. This exam is as much a test of commitment and tenacity as it is of knowledge.

    On the way home from the testing center (3 hours away) yesterday, I stopped to pick up some gifts for my hubby and boys. They have supported me through all of this and put up with an MIA wife/mom for the past six months. That was fun to do.

    Thanks to everyone here for the information and resources, but most of all the camaraderie that comes with a significant shared experience. I will post again with another update after I receive all of my scores (sure hope I passed). For those that are still studying, keep pressing on. You can do it!

    Let us know when you get your REG scores too – don't wait until you get the BEC score to come back. I can't hardly wait until after 11/29…even if I come out of that Prometric center feeling as if I surely failed (which I completely expect to do based on what I've read from everyone else on this site), I vow to not touch another book to study until AFTER I get my score (hopefully sometime before Christmas). How nice it will be to have three weeks with absolutely NO STUDYING. Like you, I jumped into this game in May, and my family has been very supportive (when I would feel like giving up, my husband would push me back into my cave to study…telling me, everything was going to be okay, just keep going – that I would regret giving up) – otherwise, I couldn't have come this far. This site has also been a Godsend to me…the folks have helped keep me focused and moving forward.

    As of today, I'm still studying for a 99 and praying for a 75 on FAR…7 1/2 more study days to go.

    @2010 – Thanks, and I will be back to post about REG. Wisconsin waits long enough, but I keep wondering if I may have had a new sim on that exam. If so, I'll be waiting until after Wave 2. I hope not.

    Your scores have been great so far, so try not to stress too much about the exam. With the same effort, you'll knock it out, no problem. Good luck!

    @anjali – Hi there. I used Becker (expensive – paid out-of-pocket), but effective and concise.

    FAR - 94 (7/10)
    AUD - 99 (8/20)
    REG - 99 (10/15)
    BEC - 88 (11/20)

    Oh my gosh I took BEC yesterday too and when I woke up today I didn't know what to do with myself. I've sat around most of the day drinking beer and watching Hulu. lol. Now to find my friends again… and maybe go on a date or something!

    AUD - 92 :: REG - 99 :: FAR - 92 :: BEC - 82

    @anjali – I used Becker too (expensive, but I did get about a $1,000 discount because of my employer). I have Yaeger as a backup on FAR as well; when I struggle with something in Becker, I check out Yaeger videos for a more indepth explanation.

    @tax_vixen – yep, time to find a life again. 🙂
