AICPA Released Questions – FAR

I have started doing the released questions, 1 year every day. I have done 2006-2010 so far and am averaging 85%-90% correct. However, when I took the 1st Becker practice Exam, I averaged a 75% on the MCQs. I feel like the AICPA questions are more straightforward than the Becker questions. Anybody else have thoughts on this?

    BEC: 93 4/18/13
    FAR: 89 7/3/13
    REG: 90 8/30/13
    AUD: 95 11/29/13

    DONE!

I would hope and expect questions from a review course would be more difficult than questions from the CPA exam. I found Yaeger's questions to be more difficult and less straightforward but I can't specifically speak about Becker's.

I can't really remember how the exam questions compared to Becker in terms of wording, but I will say that I found the exam MCQs to be understandable and fairly straightforward. Simulations, on the other hand….. some of those are like trying to read a foreign language.

I am exactly the same situation as you. I took Becker final exam first, ends up 67 – 80% on MCQ. Then I think I am gonna fail, I took advice from my friends and started to search for AICPA released questions, and ends up 85%. On my real exam, I scored 85. I have to say, Becker question is more difficult than your real exam, especially MCQ. But you have to be really prepared for SIMs, especially journal entries!!

    Hope this helps!

    AUD - 76 (May 2012)
    BEC - 81 (July 2012)
    REG - 61 (Aug 2012), rematch 83 (October 2012)
    FAR - 85 (May 2013)

    Based on Becker 2012 self-study.
Currently licensed PA CPA since July 2013.

Does anyone suggest doing the AICPA released questions before taking the actual exam? The exam changes every year so would it be harmful to do questions from before 2013?

WestonM, do you have a link for the 2006 – 2010 questions? I'd love to be practicing those myself.

    Hiya Zieba!

    Whew!

Lots of practice tests to do during this cramming final week.

With the limited amount of time left leading to the Q1 last day, would you guys recommend doing more the old sets than the up-to-date online AICPA sample tests on here? https://www.aicpa.org/BecomeACPA/CPAExam/ForCandidates/TutorialandSampleTest/Pages/exam_tutorial_parallel.aspx

I took FAR about two weeks ago. Becker questions are definitely more wordy and beat around the bush so speak. I didn't have one CPA question that was more than a sentence or two long with all the facts clearly given. Just be sure you read slow and catch the trick.
