Assuming the work experience requirement has been met, how long does it take to receive your license? I sent in my final license application and work experience verification a week ago. I’m just curious to know if this process is a 2-3 week process or 8+ week kind of thing. I’m aware every state board is probably different… I’m in KY… but I’m sure ready for a raise 🙂

It took me about 3-4 weeks for them to actually issue my license number through the state board of Florida after i got everything in. I didn't wait for them to send me the packet though, i got it from someone else and sent it in. There was an additional 3-4 weeks to actually get my certificate in the mail. Hope this helps.

how did you know your license number had been issued before you got your certificate? do they send you an e-mail.

I got my final passing score in late May. My certificate was just printed on June 28th and hopefully I'll have it in hand this week. This was in Texas. I didn't spend more than 3 days working on anything once it was sent to me (ethics course, work experience forms, etc). It surprised me how slow the whole thing was. This was mostly due to Texas doing everything by mail and not giving out any info over the phone.

You all get certificates in the mail. I from Indiana and they are so cheap we get absolutely nothing but an email saying we have approved your application and here is your license number. A professional looking certificate of any kind cost $30+ minimum. What a gig. By the way, the one thing about IN is that I had my license in 11 days from the day I put my application in the mail even if all I get is an email.

I was wondering about this too. I took and passed my ethics exam monday, but not sure how long this process takes. I have done all of this pretty quickly. Started in January and completed in May, but just got my scores last week. It makes me nervous!

To give everyone an answer to my own question, it took the KY State Board a few days shy of 4 weeks. I received my license number in the mail yesterday! The letter also told me the number of CPE hours I'll need for the 2010-2011 reporting period and that I'll be receiving a wall certificate in the mail after the next board meeting (about a month).
